I watched a video showing the difference between series and parallel. Putting a leaf sized piece of cardboard in the corner of one panel prevented any power from that series of panels. Think of a string of light bulbs. If one bulb burns out the whole string is dead. With parallel even if one burns out the rest continue to burn. I would suggest you wire 2 or four in series and then parallel them. Then if a panel in one of the series gets shaded the other groups of series continue output unaffected. Thanks. I agree it is fascinating creating your own power.

I bought 4 Eco-Worthy panels for emergency power. I live on the Eastern side of the Cascades at 4300' elevation. We lost power for 40 hrs. one year. They are 18 volt bi facial. I have them mounted similar to yours and I placed aluminum foil behind the panels for reflection. Unfortunately I can't give an evaluation because we have had rain and snow almost every day. Even on the worst day they are outputting some power. I have wired 2 in series and then paralleled. 413 watts is great! Are yours in series or parallel? Your daughter is a sweetheart. Thanks for the video.

So some sunlight could actually shine through the bi-facial panels. I think you could generate slightly more electricity by covering the bottom of your panels with a very large piece of mirror.

Why didn’t you use the spare fuse slots as they have power as well and shouldn’t interfere with any other components. Isn’t that right?
@teebrron
@teebrron 2 ай бұрын
Absolutely you can but it would require the additional step of using a tester to see which spare always has power,, If you find a good one let me know, But if you can then ideally for hybrids and gas models i recommend a power bank or solar generator, 1KWH storage capacity would be perfect. I use a `Goodall Startall ` its about half a KWH and it runs my camera continuously for about 4 days on 1 charge!

@@teebrron Glad to hear it was resolved. I installed a new right (passenger) CV axle on my '05 GT that I got from Rock Auto (APWI HY8369A), ABS Ring Tooth Count 44. Unfortunately, I skimped and got an "A-Premium" ABS Wheel Speed Sensor and threw a P0501 code. I replaced this with a HOLSTEIN 2ABS0163 sensor, cleared the code and this appears to be functioning well. Verified functioning with OBDWiz using the vehicle speed graphing function (my Tib lacks ABS, only has the speed sensor on the front passenger wheel). With the sensor unplugged vehicle speed was zero on the graph. With the sensor plugged in the display graph matched what I was seeing on my speedometer. Now, I just have to complete a drive cycle so my monitors are ready for emission testing :(

Trying to fit two light bars on my -22 Tucson N-line. Inside/behind of the front bumper below the license plate, one on each side. But I have some sort of vent blades electrically controlled behind the bumper. Maybe for cold climate ( Im in Sweden) to reduce cold air. I dont know. So that position is probably not avaliable for the short bars. Saw your front bull bar/light bar. Maybe I will go for that option. Good to have the bar to protect the bar and front slightly. @teebrron
@teebrron 5 ай бұрын
Great question Yes absolutely you can do that, But it would require deleting the LZGD box, Install the light as i did,, and then connect the yellow wire as i did but without the box, So you have to cut the yellow wire before it enters the LZGD box, and connect where i did by the headlight, Without the box the signal will flash solid, With the box the signal will be sequential.
@ivy_404_
@ivy_404_ 5 ай бұрын
@@teebrron Makes sense and simple enough. Thank you. Does bypassing the LZGD box impact the color of the LEDs?
@teebrron
@teebrron 5 ай бұрын
@@ivy_404_ Yes by passing the box will effect the lighting, the box turns the led from white in the day to blue at night when the headlights turn on, And also the box does the white led start scan when you start your car, When you lock/unlock your car the box light`s up the led in sequential amber, So the features are all set up in the box and we can only choose which wire we want to connect. You can by pass the box and connect just the one yellow for a solid non sequential signal but the other features wont work.

Sure, as long as the total open-circuit voltage + 20% or so does not exceed what the string inverter can handle, series is good. You do need to be careful working with such high voltages though. Most power stations can't handle anywhere near that amount of voltage. So for those eco-worthy panels... 100W, 12V monocrystalline panels have an open-circuit voltage of 24.5V. 24.5V x 14 = 343V + 20% = 412V. So as long as the string inverter or power station can handle that, the topology will work. I recommend tucking the MC4 connectors you have exposed up on the roof under the panels (usually with a few zip-ties), so they do not get direct sun exposure. Otherwise the tabs holding them together will get brittle and eventually break. Secure them under the panels a bit off the roof. Even though they are weather sealed, you don't want them sitting right on the roof. -Matt

do u think u can help me with 1 thing? i got a brand new Tucson and the 'rear' end of the trim is not fitting properly under the wheel well liner. when u were installing the running board, is there something complicated under the liner which connects it to the trim? i mean... i will try 2 have my dealer fix the issue (which is apparently an assembly defect) for free... but if they refuse... r u saying i can check what's underneath the liner and how the liner is connected to the trim's end by simply unscrewing the plastic screw? so that i can just unscrew the liner and check and c if i can fix this problem? what i'm referring 2 is actually seen on your vid @ 2.27. u r probably pulling the trim off @ that moment... but mine looks like that by itself (the other side of the car is assembled properly and the edge of the liner goes under the trim etc etc). i've always thought they would use some clip-like thing (for security/safety - 2 make sure there's nothing 2 self-unscrew due 2 vibrations and such)... using a screw at this location seems kind of weird 2 me (like asking for problems 2 happen l8r).

Congrats on the new Tucson im jealous since mines 2 years old now and yours is brand new. Both sides of your car should be identical, the fasteners which hold the trim in place should be the same on both sides, There should be several clips which fasten the trim and the 1 screw on both sides, If one side is different or has no clips then there`s something not right, The clips which hold the trim in place are somewhat easy to break during the removal process, The clips, trim and related parts are fairly inexpensive, (i have my 2022 OEM trim for you for free) if you pay the shipping.) If one side of your car is missing the clips in the center then they must of broke off during a previous removal or assembly. I don`t know if i even came close in answering your question but hope this helps.

@@teebrron 1. Thanks. 2. I might have confused u. No, I'm not trying 2 install/remove anything. I was just trying 2 confirm that a) the plastic body trim installation should look exactly the same on both sides and b) since u were removing the trim, mayb u remember the design of the assembly @ the point of contact of the well liner and the trim. My question was if the dealer refuses to fix this apparent factory assembly issue (and the car is only 105 mi 'old') I can at least unscrew the fastener (4 me it's actually a screw w/the head 4 the allen/hex wrench) and see what the problem is. Maybe I can simply 'tap' (I have a rubber mallet, u know... mallets and hammers usually solve all the mechanical issues... :) ) the end of the plastic trim into place and then put the wheel well liner back and screw the fastener back in and b done w/it... Hopefully no parts needed... That's y I was trying 2 ask if u remember if the 'end' of the trim panel is actually bigger or goes far under the liner and mayb it's actually being held in place w/the same fastener which holds the liner? I'm trying 2 think ahead here 2 foresee any complications w/my attempt of DYI 'fix' (I don't want 2 call my local shop which 'repairs what their husbands "fixed" ' and pay 4 those repairs). :)

Yes you should remove it yourself and try to fix it, You can go to another dealership and see if they can confirm what the previous dealer said. How many pinch welds do u have on each side (per wheel)? In my 2024 I only have 1 pinch weld per wheel (2 each side) but they are small/short and won't allow for me to lift the car on the side *AND* put a jack stand under it. Looks like w/o extra tools (and knowledge) I can't do tire rotation myself. Because the manual doesn't even talk about any other lift points except 4 those pinch welds...
