I am a sx 6w7, I am more phobic however - male beauty 6. Apparently the most difficult to type I heard. I want to be free of this fixation which means finding true security in the Self and the Divine, realising one’s indestructible essence.

Thanks Suzy. I can't figure out my subtype, need to think more about it. How likely is it for a social 2 to avoid groups and to be socially anxious or socially withdrawn, and for a sexual 2 to not use sexuality & seduction very much to fulfill their need for affection? I guess it's possible for many reasons to repress your instinct or to live a life in which it doesn't manifest so much ?
@SuzyRoars8 күн бұрын
Great questions - social 2s certainly can have their moments of needing to be away from spotlights. It's a break for them from having to perform. The sexual instinct is rather intense - it doesn't have to be about people all the time, this desire to merge and connect can be with other things. Generally speaking, the sx instinct tend to be intense regardless of the enneagram type. People can be subtle creatures - it's not always easy to see what we are. Typology paints in broad strokes. Wish you all the best on your journey ;-)

@SuzyRoars Thank you very much for this explanation. Do types possess all three instincts to different degrees ? I mean, does a type 2 possess the sp, so and sx characteristics the way you described them, even though one is much stronger than the two others ?
@SuzyRoars5 күн бұрын
@@Ovale-tt Indeed, we all have them, but it's a preference and strength, or impulse. One is very active, the next one less so but is there and the last one is rather weak. Depending on your own order. Hope that helps!

Hmm im 🌕infp 945🌙 with adhd, and because of this my personality feels very conflicting. Like i have a 5 which gives me a mich more logical approach to certian things and i dont always like it because i feel a bit out of place with being a feeler type. And then a 9 so im constantly just wanting peace ✌️ i really dont like conflict and enjoy when everyone does what they like, even if there is conflict i try not to involve or help give solutions to solve. For 4 its my only main type i guess i love creativity and am extremely emotional i hate being criticized too and like to be unique i always feel a bit embarrassed because of that but ive come to peace with such. ♡☆im also sorry for ranting i just like seeing a community of people i can relate to so much, its hard to have that when almost everyone i live with are thinkers and sensing types♡

This was an enchanting video, your delivery is so unique. Great to see content that delves deeper into the differences of the subtypes like this - understanding the subtypes and wings were key for me to understand things about myself that seemed completely at odds with each other, so as 5w4 sx and intp in the mtbi, being the countertype of an enneagram countertype is a strange place to find yourself, with a constant battle between the heart and the mind and a raging intensity contained behind a mostly detached exterior (only discarded when in the presence of a special someone or someone who can handle what's burning beneath) The part about sharing emotional landscapes is hauntingly true. I connect with my husband passionately over emotionally intense music like metal, classical and rap - we both know exactly when a song will hit the same way for the other.. it's like a secret shared between. The confidant description is very apt.

I always wondered why I had the instinctive tendency to separate things in catgories, like the sacred from the profane, the supreme from the unworthy, sometimes being somewhat harsh with my statements. When I didn't understand the enneagram very well, I thought that perhaps it was a 1, due to the great dichotomies that accompanied me in the search for that knowledge, but later, reading about the social 5, I realized that it described me perfectly. Specficially a 5w4 so/sx with a blind sp. Thanks for the video, greetings.

This is a very cool, informative and pleasant video to watch. I've discovered almost a year ago,(now being in my twenties) that my type is 9 and that I still have to work on my strenghts and weaknesses in order to be fully aware of my potential and self-defense mechanism. Things like maintaining the peace, numbing out, symplifyng problems for an eassier, less painful outcome, living on auto-pilot, neglecting my needs and not setting my boundries sounded so dull and common in most people, that I haven't even payed attention to them in a while, but now I see they are crucial signs to observe for my own well-being! Keep the good job up! :D :)

Books 🥰🤩 Thank you for making such entertaining video. If anyone comes across this comment, I would like to ask something - does anyone notice the influence that growth and stress lines have on them? P.S. I love Les Miserables. On the other hand, Pride and Prejudice is well written but I don’t like the story itself. And I haven’t read The Scarlet Letter. But I do like the books suggested for 4 and Alice’s Adventuress in Wonderland. Also, if I may, I would like to mention some other books I enjoy (just because I like talking about books). Hope you don’t mind. The Little Prince (one of my favorite books ever written), The Alchemist, The Shadow of The Wind, Before the Coffee Gets Cold, When Breath Becomes Air (looooove this book), What You Are Looking For is in the Library, The Gift: 12 Lessons to Save Your Life, Wonder, anything by Rilke and The Midnight Library (I am almost done with it and love it). What are some of your favorite books? If anyone is willing to answer this, leave a reply below.

Hello Solarisan. I didn't get your first question about growth, sorry :) About the second question, two books came to my mind : The Little Prince by Saint-Exupéry, that can resonate with many enneagram types, I guess, since it's the 2nd most translated book in the world after the Bible. And the other one is "Acide Sulfurique" by Amélie Nothomb. No idea if it's been translated, but it really resonated with my wing 1, because it's a fiction about a concentration camp being recreated for a TV show, how morals are questioned and the main character's dignity. 😊

Elodie, may I ask you a question ? :) I read that you are a sp 5 (INTJ I guess). And I am curious to know if you can relate to the two other descriptions of the 5's instinctual variants ? I mean, I don't know if all enneagram types 5 share the three traits (sp-sx-so) Suzy described to different degrees, or if each person just relates to one or two instincts maximum and doesn't identify with the other(s) at all. (Suzy, thanks for your content! If you would like to share your opinion too I would be very glad 😊). Have a nice day ! ~ ENFP 2

Thank you Suzy. I didn't get very well what the countertype is. Would you have any examples to share?
@SuzyRoars10 ай бұрын
you're welcome 🌻 sure, for example, type 6 deals with fear in general. And its counter type is Sx 6. A sx 6 will be less cautious and be more willing to go towards what they fear instead. "offence is a good defence". They may even deny or don't understand that they are afraid. Hence them looking like 8s sometimes. social 6 and self preservation six will admit their anxiety more easily, and take less risks. Hope that helps.

I find reaction formation interesting and I am still trying to see how it is presented in general vs in me. Although I know that the example of appearing overly nice when you are angry doesn’t apply to me, I have noticed that I am fine-tuning anxiety into calm presence. I have to. Otherwise, my mind will explode with racing thoughts that are overwhelming. Another thing I have noticed is that when people talk reasonably, explaining why, I am receptive to it. Once they start being authoritative, domineering, dismissive and setting boundaries/rules, my brain automatically shuts it down and/or tries to find ways to override those things. Now, this part is a bit more cognitive related, I think. All in all, I find this really interesting as I keep exploring all areas of myself.

When 9s follow their growth line they go into type 3 and borrows momentarily from the best qualities of type 3: a positive self-view, more assertive, goal oriented, and feeling secure in their accomplishment. I'd invite you to read into what makes 3 great, as this is within your reach as well. Best of luck 🌻
