Tried playing my first ranked game - ended up being abused. People wonder why we just stick to normals and ARAMS. I'm going back to other games, fuck riot, fuck ranked.

I do feel the pvp carry elements are just not as fun anymore, like the ability that one person can carry a game on one team or the other really makes it feel less enjoyable to play with your friends or teammates. I do feel the game market ebbs and flows and I think Co-Op PVE or at least more PVE elements to test your metal against are more in demand right now, like how WoW and MMOs where super high demand but then laid way for Mobas and competitive hero shooters etc... I just think League has fallen out of what people enjoy... not to mention the balance and game design as a whole but still

**Only read this if you are vibing with the tone of the video, I wrote this to continue the conversation, not to make it about me ** I want to say Quach, I think you have a really good head on your shoulders for a young person today, and though I don't know if I fully understand everything you said contextually (as in from the perspective that you have gained from lived experience), I think we are on a wavelength here. As someone a decade ahead of you in life, I have a few things to say. Firstly I will explain my position, for context. 1. I own a house, the thing that always looked impossible for Gen Y and younger. 2. I come from excessive wealth, but have experienced abject poverty as well. 3. I study a full load at University. 4. I work from home as flexibly as I want. 5. I am not the primary income for the household. 6. I have no kids. 7. I have very good health insurance in a country with fairly socialized medicine. I was a workaholic until February this year. I have been employed since I was 12 years old, with the only break being when I moved to a new city for university when I was 16/17. I grew up with rich parents from fairly wealthy families. One was new money, one very old money. I was always told that working hard would result in fair treatment, but it's not the case in my experience. I worked very hard and made a lot of people a lot of money. But I was always just making other people money, being paid fairly good money but working my bum off. Never being able to take rest seriously because I was smashing the work waiting for "my time." But that, in my opinion, is how they get you. If you have made people millions upon millions of dollars profit, and it isn't your time, then it never will be. So I renegotiated. Spent some time taking things like mental health seriously. I worked out that I don't like the work I do, I just do these things because it is expected and I want my family to be proud of me and happy with me. So I just fully stopped working for 3 or 4 months, after a solid year or so of therapy. Instead of worrying about money, I found that I enjoyed things that were very simple. Cooking, writing, gardening, and weirdly cleaning too. I like having a nice space and being able to share it instead of working at a breakneck pace, never having time to organize things which aren't work. After a month my partner joined me and we had 2-3 months together just hanging out playing video games, and going for walks in the park and learning to cook nice things from first principles (which saved us weird amounts of money lol). When the excess money ran out, the company (we both work for the same company) was so desperate for us to return they were willing to play ball. So there were pay raises, and I now work from home in a consultative role. More per hour but way less hours. I am back at University studying something I want to, I have really refocused on what is important. Instead of hoarding money for things that don't matter, I usually spend a bunch of money investing in the things which do. My health and the things I enjoy doing, and you know what? The bills still get paid. When I finish my degree I will be able to see if I am able to do the one thing I have always wanted, and even if it makes no money, I will still have done it. The why of it is what matters now. Like, why I do things. That's the only reason I went back to the company I had worked for: before the why was keeping others happy, hoping I would be made a mega rich jerk like them. Now it is to fund my lifestyle and help me achieve my goals of pursuing passions. To be honest, I am the least miserable person in my family now and they all hate it... Which all started with doing therapy (they really hate that fact too) and just realizing that all my negative behaviors come from trying to make everyone else happy. Now that I only care about me and my healthy relationships, money has become a tool to achieve the things I want to rather than some object of worship for trinkets that really aren't that important to me personally (no judging, I have had a lot of trinkets in my time lol). I don't think you need to work this out by some age, or that earlier is better. Maybe it is? Personally, I just think that people need to work it out at all. Also, I have never met a truly rich person who was happy. Maybe it is just the industries I have worked in, but they are all stressed, have health problems, drink WAY too much, etc. I had health problems, and I was in my 30s, it only gets worse the longer it goes on. I think for the new money it is the panic that it will all be taken away so they have to stress constantly and do "everything they can" to hang onto what they fear to lose. This is why they treat staff like they are robbing them, and turn their management into mini versions of themselves who are just waiting like jackals to leap over one another for "their turn". For the old money folks, like my grandparents, it seems like they fear that some day someone is going to come and redistribute their ill gotten gains. So they trust no one, and fear anyone who doesn't have a lot of money. They seem to think that there is no way wealthy people would want to rip them off. But they are at least aware enough that some wealthy people got there by scamming people so they just end up trusting no one but their slowly dying breed, clutching onto relics of a world long dead. Of course this is all subjective because these are just the people I know in my corner of the world. So it is going to be different everywhere. With regard to buying experiences, honestly, no experience I have ever had which was worth remembering was really that expensive. The lines are long at the Louvre and the Mona Lisa is actually kind of tiny and unimpressive. Because the reality is that the best things in my life were the unexpected things I agreed to (very out of character), rather than the expected things I planned. I am not talking about last minute tickets to Kyoto or Dubai or something, but that could be the kind of thing for yourself. It could be as simple as saying yes to go out to lunch with co-workers, if that is something you might often avoid. The truth is that only we can set our own standards, and just because your standards might differ from other people's doesn't mean they are wrong or bad. You can both want whatever you want. You just need to know what that is, if you re-frame the way you think about money as a tool (which I think is such an important take away from both these ramblings) that is much healthier than money for the sake of money. If you want to collect Million dollar watches, be sure of why, not of how. The how always comes if the why is solid. If you want to do this thing because of some deep affection for clockworks, then maybe it is a true passion. If it is just because some influencer on the internet collects them and you wish you were them... maybe pivot. Now to get a bit girly about it all... I love you all, and you should love you too. When we love ourselves truly and always try to find the why behind our desires, we can find the things we really love about this world and try to master them, have them in our lives everyday, or witness their fleeting beauty! Good luck out there 💜

Chelsea this was an awesome read and I'm super happy to hear your journey in re-establishing your relationship with money in a positive light :DD This is what I mean I think like money is such a big driver for people and extrapolates to philosophies on life almost and we have to kinda reframe everything in a way and learn about ourselves better, your story is a perfect example and I'm very glad you shared!! Take my word for the two problems they need to fix first beside toxic behavior. These two problems are worse and the lead to the Toxic behavior far worse then before. 1 DAMAGE Damage is insane right now and can come off as unbalanced and Unfair gameplay. <<<< make people toxic 2 SPLIT Introducing split makes people more competitive and more frustrated now they don't have a breather anymore since its now 3 times a year that people don't belong in ranks where they should be and will drag a team down because of the diff there is between players. Mostly this takes two months for players to settle in in the rank whee they belong. THANKS TO RIOT to have now 3 SPLITS A YEAR, this problem is now having 6 months this problem. COMBINE THIS AND YOU ARE HAVING A TOXIC COMMUNITY FAR WORSE THEN BEFORE.

TES coach POV: After watching g2 vs psg game, we must ban poppy and Zac. After game2 vs g2 TES members: coach, Tristana is too strong, we should ban TES coach: nah we stick to our plan, ban poppy, zac…. And volibear.

Really appreciate that you've highlighted G2's interesting drafting philosophy G2 found themselves in an advantageous spot going Lower Bracket. The more games they played, the more they showed picks that looked like must-bans (e.g. Zac, Orianna, Poppy). TES drafting coach really found themselves in a predicament and believed in the hype of those picks. I would've loved to see TES leave Zac or Orianna open to see how the draft would develop. A big reason G2 could surprise TES with the Ivern was because of the constant Tristana blind-pick which throws a spanner into draft expectations. Game 2, TES should've forced G2's hand by leaving Kalista/Zac open and play a standard Lucian Nami lane

Great video with some good points. Poppy was a ban against primarily Mikyx but also poppy can be flexed into 3 roles. This is a staple in G2 drafting in not showing where a champion is going until the end of draft. 2 recommendations for future videos; plan your video with a small script of talking points, you had some great insight but was in the lost in the thought process. writing these down will make your process more cohesive.

Probably the biggest 5head move they did this series was to ban lucian in g3, the tes botlane was getting fisted playing into the meta aggressive botlane's on both sides of the picks, varus/kalista. So the obvious move would be to pivot to lucian in g3 when it isn't working and try play more for control but g2 immediately shut it down with a ban and forced them to keep playing the kalista lanes which tes has had no success with in g1-g2.
