Thanks very much for this! I played it on a loop and within a few minutes the mama fox squirrel came running down her tree to reclaim her babies that had blown out of her nest during a 90 mph windstorm. For anyone else in a similar situation, there are gray squirrel call videos elsewhere on KZbin that didn't work at all on this fox squirrel so be sure to distinguish which type of squirrel you're dealing with :)

It's always awful to see these little animals have a hard time. But at least we can say that this little one clearly had a caring human to look after him. Soft towels, hand touches, even medications. At least he got something.

I've watched many rehab squirrel release video's that lived in larger cages the People took their time with love showing them the trees, but this video you had them in a small box, wired on front no wonder they were chewing the wood. Pretty sure they were happy being free. You seemed cold when saying good bye, animals can feel the vibration from humans..just saying

They live in huge 8' x 8' x 8' enclosures. This is the temporary transport nest box only. They're in it for 20 minutes max. I tie this to a tree at release site, remove cover and they leave when they want. They generally use the box for a couple of days then build their own nest. Don't accuse people of horrible things when you don't know the truth.

@MaryCummins I do apologize because in your video you didn't show a larger cage, only a wood box which can confuse people as to how the squirrels were taken care of before release. If only you'd provide a better video of how your squirrels were taken care of then I would've understood your care. Thank you for replying of what the squirrels lived in, makes me feel better, sorry about misunderstanding but its due to lack of more in your video. Hopefully the squirrels are doing well living free and happy. I'm just a person who cares deeply about animals. Have a good day and thank you for helping squirrels~ Peace 😊

There are over 69 million dogs and 36 million cats in American households. Our pets are family members; we love, play, share our food, and celebrate holidays with them. In fact, a recent survey by a mattress company discovered that 71 percent of pet owners sleep with their pet. Of those pet owners who share their bed with their furry family member, 52 percent let their pet lie at their feet. Twenty-three percent snuggle with them, 11 percent share a pillow and 14 percent let them sleep underneath their covers. I admit my dog and two cats sleep on our bed. Am I concerned that I may catch a disease from my pet? Yes, as a practicing veterinarian I am acutely aware of bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic diseases that can be transmitted between animals and humans, called zoonotic diseases. Giardia, a protozoa found in contaminated soil and water, is a zoonotic disease that causes diarrhea in pets and humans. I see this disease at least twice daily in my Chicago practice. A recent study found Giardia in the feces of 8 percent dogs and 4 percent cats in United States. Another zoonotic disease, called Leptospirosis, is transmitted by drinking water contaminated by urine of infected wildlife-like rats, mice, raccoons, opossums and skunks. It causes life-threatening kidney and liver disease. It is a rising cause of illness in my practice. My goal today is not to frighten you on the hazards of pet ownership and your enjoyment of wildlife, but to educate you on how to safely live with them in your home and from afar.

We just had this there was a baby possum look like brand new newborn in the pouch the mom got clearly hit by a car so hopefully they can take her out of her pain and save the babies.
