Chain attack has to be my favorite theme of the soundtrack. I will on purpose do nothing after initiating a chain attack just to listen to the music

It's uncanny how much this mirrors the Prison Island music the first time you go there in Xenoblade 1. It plays off of Zanza's theme, but parts of the main verse melody are almost identical to that initial Prison Island theme.

This song. This song is what really cinched the feeling that Area Zero exists beyond the bounds of time as we know it-- where past, present and future all converge in this almost literal uncanny valley. TPC/GameFreak are REALLY going to have to up their game to make a finale as spectacular as what was in Scarlet and Violet-- it's one of two games in recent memory to have actually made me feel at least SOMETHING.

It's still crazy to me how much of a surprise this game was, i just happened to buy it because it's one of the few Switch exclusive RPGs so i was curious, absolutely hated it at first, the character designs, the voice acting, the combat. It's shocking how it grew on me as i played it and eventually became pretty much my favorite RPG, never had that happen before that i started off hating a game and ended up with it being my favorite. Regardless of the somewhat tired anime look, it has a plot and character development that puts pretty much every other RPG i can think of to shame, whomever the head writer at Monolith is, give them a massive raise cause if i was SquareEnix i'd be looking to poach them immediately. The music is also incredible ofc but it's from the guy that composed Chrono Trigger so that was never a surprise, Mitsuda just has excellent taste and always has

You see, this is why Arven gets to be my best friend. His pupper almost died, his parents DID die, and the next time he sees them, they're a robot, wearing their face. Not even that, they don't even stick around for him. So don't worry, Arven. We can be best friends and I'll make sure we never run out of bread. Damn it, I'm getting teary eyed.

I now know that I have a type of character that I like. It started with Colress, and his kickass theme. It continued with Maruki from Persona 5 Royal. And the realization came when I faced Professor Turo: morally grey lab coated scientists with REALLY good music that come along with their fights.

What makes a Pokemon legendary? Is it it's awesome power? It's flawless command over an element of the world? Or is it it's rarity? Terapagos, a Pokemon, last of it's kind, commands a power unlike anything else. Not only does it command all the types at once, it pulls people, Pokemon and items through the gulf of time and space. Perhaps it searches for another like it, a lone child with godly power, unable to find it's mother or a friend.

This location is my favorite location in Pokemon of all time. The air of mystery it exudes, the feeling of pressure, how the terrain feels almost alien... it's all tied together by the roaming robots or ancient beasts. Everything about it screams imposing and mysterious. While the Distortion World may be a creepy, bizarre location, Area Zero is a grave and a prison, with cryptic writing on the walls, the floors, and the very denizens in this hole in the ground. It is imagination's resting place.

"In my head. There are two versions of me. One of them is saying that. It's telling me "it's good."" "What about the other one?" "It keeps shouting. "Elite monsters should be called unique" "and vice versa!" And it won't stop getting louder."

So I know it literally plays motifs from 1's Engage the Enemy and 2's Counterattack in the middle, but to me this whole track sounds like a fusion of the two. Which is perfect, because the whole game- story, gameplay mechanics, art style, even music- is about taking the literal best of both worlds and combining them into something greater than the sum of its parts.
