This is the most important video I’ve ever seen on KZbin. I can’t begin to express how much darkness was extinguished by the light of this particular lamp. Thank you to everyone who had anything to do with this.

High Levels of Wisdom is Very Challenging for Humans to Achieve. Equally Though Wisdom Offers Solutions :- Leadership. Science/Knowledge Leadership. Religious/Faith Leadership. Political Leadership. FURTHER It is a Shame that Professor Sagan did Not Acknowledge that the Invention of Atom Bombs by SCIENCE was a Major Obstacle to " Being at the Stars". Professor Deustch Seems to be Admitting that Most Scientists are Also Involved in a Form of Religion. In that the Limits of Science Knowledge causes Incorrect Conclusions. In this Regard I am Still on the side of the Pope in the Historic, POPE Verses GALALEO Dispute:- The Earth May well be the Centre of the Universe. Thank you to Professor Deustch, some Great Stuff.

Interesting discussion about who might have access to online learning that costs as much as AI assisted ones inevitably do. Khan says, best purchased by school districts, which I'm inclined to agree with but in England today what is the equivalent now that we effectively don't have LEAs any more? Apart from the fully private schools, with the privatisation of previously nationalised schooling the likely answer is Multi-Academy Trusts, if they've any money left after paying all those 'executives' they employ. But we all know that many of them are highly selective, easing out any pupils who they regard as under-attaining or simply not fitting their model of learner. End result? More privilege for those with existing privileges, less for the under-resourced. We need to take back our schools into the public sector for real so the likes of AI assistants can benefit from economies of scale.

Compassion. Not the same as empathy. So throw away all those sympathy cards, right? Sympathy is not standing there eating a sandwich. Empathy is not giving a hug, either.

Studies agree that as nonverbal cues are sent and received, they are more strongly influenced by modules of the right-side neocortex (esp. in right-handed individuals) than they are by left-sided modules. Anatomically, this is reflected a. in the greater volume of white matter (i.e., of myelinated axons which link nerve-cell bodies) in the right neocortical hemisphere, and b. in the greater volume of gray matter (i.e., of nerve cell bodies or neurons) in the left. The right brain's superior fiber linkages enable its neurons to better communicate with feelings, memories, and senses, thus giving this side its deeper-reaching holistic, nonverbal, and "big picture" skills. The left brain's superior neuronal volume, meanwhile, allows for better communication among the neocortical neurons themselves, which gives this side a greater analytic and intellectually narrower "focus"

Sounds like something fanatic communist woudl say. History verdict on communism and its success rate with poverty is quite clear. No other ideology has murdered so many in the claim it is saving them. Black plague, two atom bombs dropped on Japanese civilians, and short reign of terror by both Fascist in Italy and Nazis in Germany, all combined and communism since Lenin days has suppressed them all in how many it has killed in the name of eradicating poverty. So what is this psychopathic ideological fanatic talks about? He should re-invent his psychopathic ideology.

This man is by his own admission a working class Tory. We have structural unemployment in this country so how exactly does he want people to pull themselves up by their boot straps? The business and financial interests are not going to tolerate a return to full employment since it weakens their power and reduces their wealth These are just the same old arguments blaming people for the situation theyre in and ignoring how neoliberalism actually works

Poverty is not a naturally occurring phenomenon, it’s a by product of market economics, a by product of scarcity economics. If you want to solve poverty you need to change economics at a fundamental level. That takes bravery, taking on that challenge. Access to the basic needs should be taken out of the market system; food, healthcare, property, education, security and justice. Keep the market for ‘unnecessary’ items, luxuries. Raise the base level of existence. Marxism with robots. The end of work is coming anyway, our hand is being forced whether we want it or not. The tired notion that there’s enough work for everyone is fanciful… your man here is so behind the curve.

with all of these years of school and college , i still don't know what i want to become in life. i always see people have a dream and the dream is, want to be a doctor or engineer or an artist , etc, etc, so i thought that i am different and do not fit in the society and also i am not good enough. These years of education have always made me think that i am not good enough. The education system have always told us to study. And health , making food for yourself, service, social responsibility, your hobbies, spending time in nature, spirituality, all of these things were not the part of education and today also whenever i spend my time in all of these things i feel like that i am wasting my time. and i should focus on studying. I think so true meaning of education is not making you a machine but to lead your life in your own way. The education system focuses on just one thing is to get a job. i think it is very much limited . With life which of full of possibilities, it is limited.

to the lady who asked about restoring value to nurses and teachers (real jobs) how many teachers prepare students for a life of bullshit consumerism and bullshit jobs? how many nurses tend to those ill due to bullshit lifestyles? how many soldiers fight in bullshit wars? how many doctors pedal BS drugs? how many factory workers manufacture BS toys and fast fashions? how many waiters serve BS junk foods? how many software engineers code BS video games? how many janitors sweep up BS office suites? how many crop pickers grow BS corn (syrup) for soda pop? how many actors make BS movies about this BS life? how many musicians sing about it all, sponsored by BS-producing corporations? how many academics promote BS UBI so we can blissfully indulge in this paradigm?

I worked on a project in Saudi Arabia many years ago. One day I saw a busload of people lining up in front of the company I worked for. I was told they are local Saudis who are employed by the company as it is required to hire a certain percentage of locals. The company decided that locals are unproductive and will do more harm than good so just make them come once a month to collect their salary. The actual job being done by expats from othet countries.

Considering Sir Ken Robinson is high up in education and training, I find this interesting take on ADHD. It seems quite a harmful and alienating view of it. Has he considered that ADHD is not ALL about attention, but it is in fact multifaceted and perhaps the prevalence of ADHD and thus prescriptions is due to higher rates of awareness. Or that access to prescriptions and care is better in such states? I'm not sure, I am writing from Australia but as educators, we need to care for children, not take such a cruel view where we think they are drug-taking zombies.

Loved this. Hannah Rosin explained the world as it is, years before the rise of Trump. Men are being outperformed and out-educated by women and they no longer know what their role is, so they lash out at feminism and women, rather than focussing on themselves.

Here is an explanation that I didn't see or hear in this video: We are all connected. Assuming both players get the same payoff matrix, then the net payoff for 2 cooperations is 4 (each cooperator gets 2). The net payoff for 1 cooperation and 1 defection is 2 (3 for the defector and -1 fir the cooperator). The net payoff for 2 defections is 0. The highest net payout is cooperation - so it is the most rational choice when we expand our awareness and our sense of self. Yes, repeated interactions also help, but aren't required to explain cooperation. The 'Golden Rule' is found in many, many cultures......
