I haven't been diagnosed with that but I was in the hospital for 5 days and I was 8 days straight vomiting. Oh my God I'm so sick of being sick. I've been hospitalized back in December as well for the same thing. I was smoking marijuana but I quit that because I want to prove to them. It's not the marijuana causing it. I believe I have CVS. They told me to use the low FODMAP diet to help me eat and so far I haven't been nauseous in the morning like I usually am. A lot of mornings I would just throw up when I'd wake up. But being on the low FODMAP diet now hasn't changed my life incredibly so I'm still don't know what I have. I know I've gone to the ER several times for throwing up. It was so nice to hear someone else saying the same things that happened to me. It's crazy but I didn't start doing this till 3 and 1/2 years ago and I'm 60 now. Thank you so much for being brave and sharing all your tidbits about your vomiting and everything. Thank you!.

I was diagnosed the day before yesterday..ive had it since early teens, and am 37 . I always thought it was my birth control..cos that was the o ly external med i took.. just now realize..cant beleive its something..and i feel like i could possibly die at my worst point..2 weeks i go, with one day between feeling *normal* then marathon sweats, *severe* i mean.. soul wrenching severe nausea.. vomiting..dry heaving with a long pause of gut wrenching nausea pain.. a drop of water after a week is like being in the desert. 😢 my blood pressure progressivly skyrockets and im so weak ..full zombie mode..cant even talk..i fell asleep literatly holding a drink of water and the sip was held in my mouth..! In and out of consciousness. At er, only 3 tubes of blood could be drawn because im intensely dehydrated. 13 lbs lost in 2 weeks.. underwear just fall off. I went from 180 last april..to now 123. Last episode day before valentines day i lost over 8 lbs. Was at 112. I felt like a fish without water. Well..at least im not nuts! Cyclical vomiting syndrome .. 3 days into diagnosis..what a trip.

I’ve suffer from CVS for 20 years diagnosed 17. It was horrible trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I was hospitalized a lot and luckily one of this hospitalizations, after they took my gallbladder out (grabbing at straws there was nothing wrong with my gallbladder they found out after they took it out🤦🏻‍♀️ it was all in my head, I was drug seeker, it was horrible) and I got a amazing gastroenterologist that diagnosed me. But it just put a name to it. I haven’t been able to carry health insurance for years now so no clue what’s going on in the medical world. But I know it’s becoming a bit more know which is great. You and I sounds very similar. My body over responds to stress, but all vacations, events that I know about in advance, etc. I’ll get sick somewhere along the lines. Sucks but it is what it is. My current cycle is every 2-4 months. Good luck to you on this journey

I've had cvs for 10 years now since I gave birth to my son, which was an emergency c section. It's awful. I was hospitalised every month for at least 4 days for 7 months in 2020. The last bad episode I had was last December, thankfully, but I caught the flu, and an episode started. I vomited 100 times in 48hrs it was horrendous, I didn't eat for 9 days, then well apart from a few spoonfuls of soup. I wish you all the best. Its good to know you're not alone.

I know I’m years later than everyone else but I genuinely have never been in a worse place in my life. My CVS is worse than it’s ever been I’m throwing up more than I ever have I’ve not been able to focus because of how lightheaded I get I keep getting sent home due to running in and out of class because of CVS. It helps a lot to hear other people talking about it. People tell me they think they have it they have it cause they feel sick every now and then jokingly and I use to think it was kind of cool being able to do it on command and have time of school but now it’s ruining my life. I can’t stand it and I don’t know what to do.

Tips my dentist gave me was don’t brush your teeth straight after you’ve been sick as the enamel is weakened due to the enamel and will be for a little while after so brushing can do a lot of damage at that time . She said to use mouthwash at those times - hope that’s helpful

Sitting in a shower for 20 hours sounds crazy right? The comments from other people in the ER(I overheard someone say before, "that's why you don't do drugs"..... I was literally 13) 27 now and I still remember that comment like it was yesterday. It's one of those conditions you can't see and most people will never understand unless it's them. My symptoms started when I was 13 years old. Both me and my mother were convinced the first episode which we now know it as was due to menstural cycle pains since I was so young and it was that time for me... Sadly later that night my appendix was removed. That week changed my life. The only thing I could think of at that time was not making honor roll for attending school everyday right.... Years later, countless episodes in, plenty of weeks missed @ school, now going off to college. Thing we're still the same... back @ the ER at 19yrs old and guess what??? Another organ removed, my gallbladdar. The constant spasms of pain that happens sporadically throughout the day that you literally cannot control, constant vommiting, not once or twice a day, try 20x in 30 minutes ever other hour of pure force on your stomach to get whatever is in there out, excluding my other problems from not having a gallbladdar. The mental stress it has put on me, I couldn't even explain. I'm 88lbs. @ 27 years old. Not being able to gain weight because I'm legit scared of eating or drinking because it's either going to hurt me or come right back up, not being able to attend important functions with friends or family, events, birthdays, plane rides, a movie at the theater, car rides that last longer than an hour, not being able to hold a relationship. It's all so embarassing honestly and makes you feel so alone and excluded from the world. That's when the depression sets in. It's a horrible cycle. STAY AWAY FROM THE ER!!!!!!!!!

Doctors are so careless and stupid and no matter how much you tried telling them, they can be very rude, they have a right go at you for nothing and they treat you like crap. I was a patient myself and I get some Doctors who treated me like rubbish whereby shouting at me, embarrassed me, I got the brunt and they've backed me to the corner only just because I witnessed a few patients throwing up violently and one client next to me vomiting violently and that's why I had to run to one of the nurses to report what was happening, then I got it in the neck now whereby I've been shouted at. I never vomit at all which was good news but I did experience the most excruciating stomach pains and these doctors didn't do nothing about it and worst of, I've informed a complaint about the experience I had with these doctors.

Im pretty sure this is what my daughter (28 yr old) is dealing with. Her first episode was a few months ago and she’s on the tail end of her 2nd one. Of course with the first one we had no idea and had never heard of cvs. The first one back in March/April she went to ER and got IV fluids with Zofran but what really helped was a friend of mine suggested getting some Phenergran and that helped immensely. What scared me the most on the first round was that she said she was scared she was going to die. I had to sleep in the bed with her and keep reassuring her that she just had to stay hydrated but I did a lot of praying too which was the only way for me to stay calm and not let her see I was afraid too. I’ve read today that CoQ10 and L-carnitine seems to help a lot of people with cvs. I’m going to get her some. Should she start taking it now or wait until her symptoms clear? Any help or replies will be greatly appreciated! God Bless and praying for you and all who suffer with this!

Then I get him a garbage can of cold water and a bottle to pour over himself when he gets too hot. Then I give him weed. It works 98% of the time. Anyone else have any tricks??

I've had this since I was about 4. The worst spells was when I was around 16. I went down to about 100 pounds, and I am five foot nine, so that is really light. Someone finally gave me some meds to help stop the MONTHS of retching. I'd stopped eating so I wouldn't throw up. It was awful.

This is literally me but I’m a guy I’m on esopreze 20mg (that doesn’t work) I also tried Sozol 40 mg (that didn’t work too) Sadly the only thing that stops my vomiting and nausea is being put on IV drip and ant-nausea medication and it’s funny how you said hyper mobility because I get the worse tremors after vomiting they have to give me diazepam to stop(maybe I do have anxiety) I’ve been to the local hospital so much the nurses and doctors are starting to know me Mine only started 2 years ago and it’s not anxiety for me or over excitement It’s after having a few drinks 🍺 I’m becoming allergic to alcohol 😢😂😂 Now I have to just see my friends having funny while I’m trying get my GP to tell how do I stop this prescribe something helpful 😂
