Unfortunately, this is the only extant footage of the silent historical drama film "Der Oberschulrat", directed by Robert Wiene as a followup to his 1920-classic "Das Kabinett des Dr.Caligari". Unfortunately, critical reception to the film was muted upon release and it didn't do well at the box-office either. It was never released again, and all copies disappeared during the following years though a variety of reasons; the last known copy was destroyed during World War Two when the Vault it was stored in was hit by a bomb and it burned down. Today, "Der Oberschulrat" is one of the most sought-after lost silent films, much like "London After Midnight" with Lon Chaney.
