One thing i like doing is sacrificing one of the kids to make a new family.Then yeah get a cub on there and make it 3/3.Then whenever I wanna play as a cub in multiplayer or smth i just go into that family and use the cub :)

It's quite easy. For first stage, you have to hunt animals that you can carry, and then bring it to your den so that the baby wolf can eat it. Second stage, the baby wolf can now go out the den, but can't attack yet. But you can attack bigger animals now, and then wait (or carry) the baby wolf to the already-killed animal so that it can eat the animal. Third stage, the baby wolf can now run faster and can attack, so you can either kill bosses to make it easier for the baby wolf to go to the next stage (adult stage), or you can just kill normal animals still. (In conclusion, you just have to feed the baby wolf.)
