Hi excellent video, thank you for taking the time to make and share. I have just installed mine. I have good connection and telemetry values that look correct. However while using in F3F mode it does not register when a leg has been completed. Countdown from 30 seconds all good then course. Speed is showing, height is showing, 23 satellites but no indication when passing either A or B base. Please note I just did a very short course configuration in my garden and reduced the course length down to 10m and have just walked back and forth with the model. Any idea why it would not register? Thank you Hugh

@@pixeldude1335 Das ist mir schon klar. Dann soll man halt von Ende des Fluges reden, aber nicht von „Landung.“ Oder die Regeln dahingehend ändern, dass man normal landet und es Punktabzug gibt, wenn sich der Flieger mehr als 45° bei der Landung dreht oder gesteckt wird.

Ob der Flieger steckt oder nicht hängt auch vom Untergrund ab. Die Flieger sind übrigens stabil genug gebaut, sodass eine Stecklandung die Struktur des Fliegers nicht überfordert. Aber finden darf das jeder, wie er möchte ✌🏼Und es muss ja auch nicht jeder alles gut finden. 😋 Der Vergleich zur F5J Landung hinkt meiner Meinung nach. Die Modelle sind ja völlig anders ausgelegt. Ein F3B Modell darf beim Start immerhin der 30 fachen Erdbeschleunigung standhalten und im Vergleich sind die Kräfte bei einer Stecklandung überschaubar, zumal die aus der Verzögerung resultierenden Kräfte ja auch noch in einer viel günstigeren Richtung auf die Struktur des Modells einwirken. Das Schönste an unserem Sport finde ich den gegenseitigen Respekt. Jede Sparte hat ihre Regeln, die sich über die Jahre weiterentwickeln. Ich würde mir als Wettbewerbspilot nicht herausnehmen, die Regeln einer anderen Wettbewerbsklasse zu kritisieren, nur weil ich der Meinung bin, dass das unschön ist. Und laut den aktuellen FAI-Regeln der Klasse F3B ist und bleibt das eine Landung egal ob der Flieger steckt oder nicht und egal, wie das irgendwer findet 😉

@@sierrahotelF3B Also ich finde sehr wohl das man seine Meinung und Kritik äussern darf. Die FAI-Regeln sind doch nicht in Stein gemeistelt und können auch geändert werden. Wenn die selbe Kritik von mehreren Personen kommt dann muß man darüber reden. Wenn dann alle für Stecklandungen sind es es OK. Es ist auch jedem selber überlassen ob er Stecklandungen macht oder nicht. Stecklandungen sind ja keine Pflicht.

Wie krumm sind denn deine Flieger das da Ständig Getrimmt werden muss? Da ist doch nach dem Erstflug quasi kein Trimmen mehr erforderlich.

Hi Manuel, wir trimmen unsere Flieger, um die Fluggeschwindigkeit an die Flugbedingungen anzupassen. Bei ruhiger Luft kann es zum Beispiel sinnvoll sein etwas langsamer zu fliegen als bei turbulenterer Luft. Außerdem kann sich der Schwerpunkt verändern, wenn man ballastiert, wodurch ebenfalls eine Korrektur der Trimmung sinnvoll sein kann.

@ Ich Fliege auch F3B oder F3F Modelle, mit Ballast und der Gleichen. Aber mehr als 2-3 Trimmschritte braucht es selten. Ich sehe da keinen wirklichen Sinn in dem Trimmtaster. Mir wäre dieser Wichtige Schaltereinbauplatz zu Schade für Sowas.

Peinlich, dass einer der Beteiligten gekleidet ist, als wolle er den Zugspitz Trailrun absolvieren. 🤣 Wenn man ihn laufen sieht, muss man wirklich die Nase rümpfen. Das Gehabe macht für mich diesen tollen Sport leider etwas lächerlich, da komplett unnötig und unverständlich! Reine Selbstdarstellung und hypertrophes Gehabe. Schade! Ansonsten ein tolles Video und vor allem beeindruckendes Pilotenkönnen 😊

Danke für deine Meinung und dein Feedback! 😊 Das schönste an unserem Sport ist die Toleranz, die wir füreinander aufbringen. Bei uns ist es egal, ob man Löcher in der Jeans hat oder sich mit modernster Sportkleidung leichtfüßig über den Platz bewegt. Das macht bei uns jeder, wie er will und ich finde das super! Ich wünsche dir, dass du dich in Zukunft auch dann für etwas begeistern kannst, wenn nicht alle so angezogen sind, wie du es dir vorstellst ✌️

The Lua apps can not be used “crossover” for OpenTX and Jeti. But there is an opentx alternative available via GitHub: github.com/barney-NG/gpsF3XTracker I hope that helps!

I'd be a box of donuts that this plane being launched here is a Sitar Special 88" -- I see the word DASSEL, but in America, at least from my memory, this is an unfamiliar name. Though, I do see it being referenced as 'Dassel' in some posts. To me, it is just a Sitar Special.

@@sierrahotelF3B Well, that would stink. This is such a hard plane to find on KZbin, that I've yet to see one actually being flown at all, just glimpses of it. And in this case, still maybe not. There's a guy on KZbin who flies just about every single make and model sailplane. I've reached out to him about it; he said he has a video, but it is not on his channel. Other than that, nothing. And yeah, I've heard that the original Sitar Special is slightly different than the ones sold in the U.S... I've got two in boxes; the 88" and the 100" -- one I had shipped to me from the U.K. The one here on this video looks pretty close to my 88". It seems that at one time, maybe the Dassel and Sitar Special were in conflict. Honestly, I do not know the history at all. But thanks for pointing out the 'copyright' issue to me. I think that would be a good video to talk about, if only I had more info, I'd do it myself. Cheers 👍

Dynamic soaring gliders reach far higher speeds than this. Record stands at 548Mph.And the F3F speed record stands at 24.10 sec over 10x 100 meter course.

hell, seams a good tool ! but not work on ds12 transmitter, system no recognise gps sensor (hpef).... but mayde i do something wrong !

It is 😉 The tool also works on the DS12. A friend of mine uses it. Make sure that the sensor is in the right port of your receiver and that the port is in the right mode.

So, ive loved sailplanes all my life. Beautiful, sharp, graceful. I am perplexed however, i know that that there are tasks involved but for the life of me, can i find a video that describes what the tasks are? Whats with all the beeping,? why is someone continually going off with the whistle? Who is flying? What task are they doing? No. I cannot find a video that informs me anywhere. Its almost as if the people who participate, do not want those plebes, to interfere with their little closed society. So, i remain with these questions. One day Id like to fly these, but dunno, seems that it would be an uphill battle to be in the outer circle, let alone the inner circle.

Hi Gordon, I'm so glad you asked! I'm currently planning videos that will describe the different tasks in detail. The Beeps are turning signals. In distance flying there are usually 4 gliders in the air and every pilot has its own turning signal. That is why there are so many different sounds going on. Whenever a pilot flies over the A-Line or B-Line which are 150 meters apart his signal goes off. And now to the "society" part...I can understand that people might think that these pilots are in their own little club. It's quite hard to keep everything important in Focus when flying F3B and it may not be that easy to explain everything to someone coming by. But I can tell you that there are a lot of very nice people flying in this sport. It's a an absolute team-sport which attracts the right people in my opinion. That is what makes a big difference in comparison to a lot of other contest classes in which you fly mostly by your own. Where are you based? Maybe I can get you in contact with F3B-pilots from your area...

The fastest speed is probably in the zoom phase. But I have no data about that, other than the g-force being >30g in peak. The speed run is described in more detail here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHXVp3V9qbmqiaM In that discipline we have an average speed of around 150km/h including the 3 turnarounds… Max speed of an f3b glider coming down from a good launch height will be more than 200 km/h

Thanks. I looked at TeamUSAF3B. They threw out a number like 60 m/s = 216 kph = 134 mph. They also quoted airframes rated for 50 g’s. Yikes! I’ve also read that dynamic soaring can reach 400 + mph or 644 kph. 😮
