Watched this documentary years ago, and was trying to remember it the other day. Found it again, and i must say when a documentary gives you the feels you know it's good.

Got my hike in 47 years ago, no hostels, southern country road walking, mean yard dogs. No light weight gear then. Old kelty frame pack. Life was good.

I do believe God answers prayers, even if you don't think its a prayer, God delights in providing what you need. Like the tweezers... the year my folks passed away, i had traveled home to help wherever I might be needed. I found myself juggling keys, glasses, phone, and other things and one morning I said just to myself, I need to find a tote. But things were really busy and I didnt have time for shopping and ai was having trouble finding a church that could provide what my home church provided. So I was bouncing around between multiple churches. That week my mother had suggested I go to a church that my cousins attended. I didnt really know my cousins. He was 10-15 years older and lived across the county from us while I was growing up. He raised dogs, and actually gave us my dog. Thats all I really knew of him. So when I entered the church that sunday, I told the greeter I was a cousin of someone who may have gone there in the past. The greeter advised that they still go there and they usually sit in that pew. I told the greeter I didnt actually know what they looked like since I'd been gone for so long. So the greeter brought the cousin to meet me and we sat together through the service. After church, my cousins wife invited me to come with her out to her car. She said, "i sew and make totes to give away in memory of my daughter. You can pick from these..." i was floored. I hadnt nentioned to anyone about needing a tote. Even the vocab matched. I had said to myself I needed a tote, and she had "totes", not "bags" or "purses". And if that wasnt enough of a coincidence, that whole summer was full of serindipitous blessings that could have only been God holding me close during one of the most trying seasons of my life.

Lovely memories and beautiful views! 😊 Thank you for sharing the struggles and joys of hiking the AT! I enjoyed the stories of all who shared! ❤ Those PA rocks 🪨 were really a "deal-breaker" in my mind! So thankful there were no broken bones (even though there was a fall requiring stitches)! Father and son bonding, discovering and appreciation time! 😊 So great! I admire and respect all of you who "press on" and accomplish your goal! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Just popped up on you tube. I like catching some of the hikers in the spring and follow their journey. Love the way the story was told and the conversations that you added from other hikers on the trail. Thanks for sharing your journey.

"white privilege" is a BS title used to guilt white people into feeling bad about who they are and what their ancestors have accomplished! I love my people, love YOUR people and never feel bad about it! Hiking IS "white people things"...We invented this shit!

Very moving documentary. The trail changes lives. Karl was such a wonderful young man & it hurt to see the fake friends pull that cruel stunt on him. Glad he got the added blessing of time alone w/ his father & healing from the mountains

What a soul-nourishing, profound, and inspiring documentary. It was incredibly well filmed and I savoured every minute of it. I am from England but I absolutely love the State's (Colorado is my spiritual home). The beautiful heart's of these people were reflected in their adventurous and determined spirits and that, type of adventure is really were life is found in the present moment. I can't wait to return to the State's next year and live life's adventure again and Wishing all the participants in this film, the very same🌄❤🌠
