This facility is the closest I have come to dying, (evidence=2 emergency room visits mandated by ICFR, the only in my eating disorder history of 35 years). Some good people, but take a close look before checking in with a haven facility.

Wow. I hope the pool saga goes better. Privacy is important. Here in south florida where pools are so common renting one is stupid so this will never be an issue.

Thanks for sharing this Jeff! I definitely see Henry Mestetsky's point about how many of these major redevelopment projects wouldn't happen without park impact fees or other incentives from the city. However I would argue that's an issue that could be addressed with policy, instead of money going directly from the city to developers. There are so many policy issues that make redevelopment projects too costly: parking requirements, setbacks and other zoning restrictions, the long permit review and approval process, requiring multiple sets of stairs for buildings over a certain height, minimum unit square footage, etc. I think if the city made it simpler and easier to build, especially smaller projects, we would see more organic growth. There's an obvious demand in Carmel. Just look at the property prices in the center of the city vs. anywhere else.

I don't live in Jacksons Grant, but I live in central Carmel and as a current renter, I appreciate any amount of new housing being built, especially townhomes, and especially townhomes within walking distance to any kind of retail. Being able to walk/bike, even if it's just to dinner, is going to help reduce traffic congestion. We can't stop development, but we can make it friendlier to a diversity of incomes and lifestyles. Thank you Jeff!

Hoping and praying that this statue purchase is approved! Or, is this a clip from the purchase and installation for one that has already taken place? We LOVE all of Carmel’s art and are very worried the city will stop allocating the funds to it and other beautification projects once Mayor Brainard is no longer in office. It’s reassuring to see where you stand!

Jeff, The City Council must first commit to allowing the city property tax to flex down as is designed to protect property owners when assessments jump up. I find it interesting that the .19 school tax is currently nearly the same dollar amount as increase in my property tax this past year. We genuinely need the city tax rate to flex down and I am confused that the council does not seem to understand that. If the schools need more revenue, the proper course is to not have the council pass an empty resolution but to appeal to the State Legislature to give the Carmel schools more money per student. Only Zionsville receives less money per student than Carmel, and that is not okay. The money from the state should be level for every student in the state.

Please let the tax rate go down! Do not take out this bond. We should Not have to pay more taxes because our house value went up due to someone else selling their property. Let that tax rate go down.

Thanks Jeff for this very informative video! I have heard the same stories about our debt since I moved here in 2010. At first, I was concerned, but after each election cycle, I realized that the sky isn't falling. Thank you for taking campaign videos to the next level!
