that under the bridge was for the old fashioned cars they went on a rail.

The Papoose I & II were the boats that brought guests from Amherstburg Ontario and the SS Columbia and SS St. Claire were the big steam boats from Detroit. You are correct that the open pavilion was for the bumper cars with the wire ceiling. The small stone buildings were mostly setup as washrooms. One of the 2 largest buildings was the Boblo Island theatre where you could see live entertainment. The other large building contained concessions as well as the indoor roller coaster called the Nightmare during the last few seasons the park was open. The largest building was originally a dance hall I believe was designed by famous Detroit architect Albert Kahn. When the park closed it had 2 other roller coasters, the Sky Streek which ran along the west side of the park and a double corkscrew coaster near the front gate called the Screamer. That small bridge you found was part of the antique cars ride. Cars resembling model Ts would travel along the road way and over that bridge. A metal rail down the middle of the road kept the cars on track if you weren't a great driver. There was also a train that ran around the outside edge of the park that resembled an old steam locomotive.

Wow thank you for all that info I appreciate it. Do you have any videos on KZbin of how it used to look in its prime

@@OutdoorAdventurer no, unfortunately my parents never had a home movie camera or camcorder. Boblo closed the summer after my first year of high school. We went at least once every summer when I was a kid because it was more affordable and closer than Canada's Wonderland or Cedar Point. How I remember it, it was always a cross between a traveling fair or carnival and a permanent amusement park. Many of the rides were set up permanently but you could tell they were on a truck trailer and were meant to be portable. I forgot there was technically a fourth roller coaster, the log flume which was a great relief on a hot summer day. There were many rides from the 1950s and 60s with the popular space theme and then some more modern ones added in the 80s like the screamer and nightmare coasters as well as the falling star and observation tower. I also remember that since it was an island, there were always lots of seagulls. They ate so many french fries and junk food all summer, most of them could barely fly haha. As a kid I always wanted to go on one of the big Boblo boats but then we would have ended up in Detroit instead of Amherstburg where our car was parked!

This is such a great stretch of road. Beautiful scenery. On a high school trip to the Leslie M Frost Resource Centre in Dorset many many moons ago, we went up the fire tower there. Not the lookout tower, but an actual fire tower. Incredibly high, and scary! Loved this driving tour!

Yikes! My days of doing something like that are long gone. haha. Fun video. By the way, I'm not sure why but I'm unable to turn on notifications for your channel. I get a message saying can't turn on notifications for content that is made for children, but your videos are not set to that. Or the ones I've watched so far anyway. Anyhow, great content on your channel. Will be discovering lots of interesting places to visit from your videos in beautiful Ontario.

This is a nice hotel. My favourite place to stay in Niagara Falls also because of the location and that super-convenient walkway across to the Casino, which is where I park my car. Not sure if this is still the case, but used to be if you donate some money to the casino's slot machines :P , then they let you park for free. Nice video.

Last summer we visited my wifes aunt and her family in Toronto. We arrived around lunchtime at Pearson Airport and drove to their house. One day later, it was on civic holiday, we drove to our cousins cottage at Turtle Lake near Gravenhurst. For our relatives it is a family tradition to stop for a lunch at Webers every time the drive to the cottage. Due to the civic day and all the people driving back home, the highway was jammed and as we arrived at Webers the lines were very long. Here in Germany I always try to avoid such long queues and expected a long wait. But I was very suprised how well the staff at Webers is organized. All in all, it took much less time than expected, till we got our burgers. The burgers were amazing. absolutely tasty and delicious. If I ever come back to Canada, I definitely will go to Webers again. :-)

Hey Chris what's up? I see your from Toronto. I live in Markham and I've been going to Niagara Falls since I was a kid and I try to go with friends either 1 or 2 times a year. This year is my 2nd time going on Oct 31st for 4 nights. I always go to the midway and I only play 1 one game. Reason is I win the most tickets from that 1 game then all the games put together. That game is called Big Bass Wheel and I once won 1000 tickets on the machine. In total on that one machine I have won over 2000 tickets. I enjoyed this video and hope you do more in Niagara Falls. Try even doing a video next time your in Niagara Falls over by where that WWE place used to be. There is a midway inside that is connected to some sorta hotel. I went there one time and they had some Wrestling Bobble heads but sadly I couldn't spend my money on tokens. But do check it out as it's just as fun as the Midway. Don't go to the Niagara Fun Zone as they want too much money for little amount of tokens and its the one that is connected to the Best Western right beside Wyndham Garden Fallsview. Take care and thanks.
