Nice Vid folks, the opening music sounds like " Chris Isaak" "Wicked Game", but anyway i have been on the Ovation for a cruise to New Zealand, it was great, loved the solarium early in the morning. So your vid was shot from a phone cam? Pretty good quality, I was only up to 5.00 at the time of writing this, cheers.

Thanks @warpedwarped, this was a beautiful cruise and yes, the modern phones capture video so well I rarely get my camera out any more.

Thanks it has been surprising and interesting to see people cruising or living on the Murray River, recently. Laurie. NZ. 😊

Thanks, were surprised at how few views this video gets, the Murray River houseboat cruises are an amazing holiday and way underrated. I hope you get a chance to come and experience it yourself one day :-)

Thanks @cherylrayes8015, we were very impressed as well and there is still a lot more to explore, so we'll be back again one day too.

I was keen to this, but your music ruined it, and had to switch it off Try one without adding loud music next time. It also could be why you have no comments ....... Take Care

Thankyou so very much for sharing your beautiful video and pleasant music! I came off Ovation from NZ tour on 23 rd March…fantastic!! Ten years ago my husband and I did similar trip on Radiance of the seas. I would love to repeat a journey in March 2025 but the price has doubled!! However, if the price comes down through the year I’m very tempted to book. Your video shows very different weather, I love the moody cloudy atmosphere. We had stunning weather but I would love to experience it once again. Unfortunately I’m home in Perth with a bad case of Covid following the cruise. A lot of people were coughing and not wearing masks on departure day in the 270 lounge. That was my only disappointment, everything else about the ship was amazing. Thankyou once again.

New Zealand is a beautiful country, particularly the South Island, and the sounds would be different every time you go, with the chargeable weather. We hope to do the trip again one day, but there are so many other places to explore. We have our next cruise booked, but sadly it's a ways off.

Hi, great video, may I ask how the food was?
@reddust91119 ай бұрын
We found the food in the main dining room was excellent, if you can't decide between two options, don't worry, order both. We were having 2-3 appetisers, 2- 3 mains and several deserts, all included in the fare. We were a little disappointed with Windjammers, finding it a bit boring and often messy, the pizza was good, hot dogs and burgers in the teens area OK and the 270 and Solarium cafes excellent and a good way to mix it up. So basically, stacks of food and options.

I Wonder if you can see the great barrier reef from that cruice?
@reddust911110 ай бұрын
You can do a day trip in the Whitsundays to see the reef, I think you could go to Green Island from Cairns as well, but the reef is a long way out there. When heading out to Willis Island you pass through the reef overnight, so you miss seeing the reef then.

So why no tenders from Royal????
@reddust911110 ай бұрын
There are only two stops, Whitsundays and Cairns, both are tender ports.

You'll love the cruise, this was our first cruise and it was a great introduction. You can join the activities or find your own space, whatever you prefer, and the views, food and entertainment are just amazing as an all inclusive holiday.

Wondering where did the tender get to in Airlie Beach. Was it Shute harbour?
@reddust911111 ай бұрын
Yes it was, we actually hired electric bikes from a shop near the dock and rode over to Airlie Beach and beyond for our shore day.

The boat looks virtually empty. Can't see any other passengers on there. Why is that?

Despite the ship having a crazy number of people onboard, the crowds will tend to congregate in certain places depending on the time. For example, in the evenings, the crowds will be at dinner or at shows, on port days the ship is quiet if you stay onboard and before 8am everyone is still in bed. So, if you want to avoid the crowds, come up with your own routines :-)

Thanks, and we agree, out back is our favourite destination. It's been mighty hard to get back out there lately though with all the rain making the roads impassible.
