Absolutely! Race Day shoes should only be exclusive on race days, wear regular daily trainers for everyday miles!

Dude, at @3:06 yo ucan clearly see that the shoes have a different shape. the brown shoe has a taller CLOUDTEC band on side than the blue one. On the blue one you can barely read "cloudtec".

I feel the pace might be the same or the furious might have a little edge in pace. But the Flame 4 is definitely more comfortable and stable with a sock-like fit that feels awesome. But I will have to test them one after the other to confirm the pace difference. That might be my next video.

They're soft, padded and comfortable. They are not narrow compared to other Nike shoes.

Doc What Shoe do you recommend for protection of the joins and for a geno varus 3° and 4° Runner? I love chinese shoes too, thanks i see all your reviews!

Most well cushioned shoes are good for the joints. But your running style also plays an important part. About what is good for your varus, i am not a specialist in that area but considering the anatomy and from experience I believe subtle stability shoes will be better. Some good responsive ones I have tested are the On Cloudrunner 2, Puma foreverrun Nitro, New balance 680. But the best assessment of a shoe is testing on feet. Those i mentioned will give you an idea of where to start but the best test is what feels good on feet. If you have access to a specialist it will also be helpful to consult.

@@drcyumeI have puma deviate nitro 3, plaid 1.5, Adizero Sl2, Mizuno Rebelion Pro 1 and Asics Novablast 5, but i need more cushioning shoes i think! Thanks Doc, this video was very informative, I'm going to avoid running directly in carbon plate sneakers as my daily sneakers! I had my eye on the Puma MagMax nitro!

The previous model Plaid 4 is discounted to 65 usd. Are you able to try those? If they have comparable performance or if PB 5 is much better considering the price gap. ~ Recent released Qiangfeng 3.0 is also 65 usd which is labeled as plated training/racing. So many choices right now!

Unfortunately I didn't try the PB4. But from the description they added 3mm of midsole to the 5, so it's got more cushion.

Currently PB 5 & Plaid 1.5 is selling for 104 usd in our area. For the same price I thinks it's better to get Plaid 1.5. ~ Also Plaid 2.0 just launched for 142 usd. The red ice blue color looks good. Just from the pictures, the upper is more structured/heavy looking. While the midsole looks less stable because of the cut outs and shaping. Both to make it look modernized. So I have my reservations if the performance improved.

I haven't seen it here yet. Probably not yet available for my region. Will definitely look out for it. But the plaid is way better than the PB so for the same price i will always go for the Plaid.

The furious may be marginally faster (though I need to properly compare them), but flame is definitely more comfortable and stable.

Takumi is better for shorter faster distances like the one you want to run, vaporfly for marathon pace.

I bought these shoes. At this time, I’m going to go ahead and request a refund from you. Shoe feels good on foot but the tongue is so floppy and ridiculous. I’m having to fuss with it the entire time every time I put the shoes on. I bought this shoe based on your review. So, I need my refund please 😉

Hmmm, tough one. I admit plaid is more responsive but there is a kind of fitting the flame 4 gives that makes it sweet to run it. I will still compare them one after the other to choose.

@ after 25 k run I can say this shoe is amazing comfort upper, snappy cushion and grippy out sole honestly I didn’t like the tongue comparing this shoe with hoka ceilo x1 hoka is much better than this I’ll use this shoe for tempo and long run but not for racing the fastest pace i did it 4 k per min my pb pace is 3.30 I don’t regret its a good shoe thanks for recommending this shoe keep it up ❤️

@@ganzergaming4606 Thanks for the feed back. Yeah, I agree it may not be the bounciest. For me also the Plaid 1.5 is slightly bouncier but the fit of the flame keeps dragging me to it. I did 33km in them 4 days ago and my feet were so fine at the end of the run, that I'm seriously considering taking them to a marathon this weekend. But I will still do a final comparison with the plaid to decide.
