Doesn’t matter what great singer covers this song - it will always be for second place. Hatfield forever first.

I love this song. Basically the only time I cry is when I hear this. My emotions are scattered. ☮️💜

Creo que quienes hicieron la mejor interpretación fueron: Elvis Presley quien puso el alma, el corazón en esa famosa interpretación. Luego viene Righteous Brothers y que fue popularizada en la película de Demi Moore.

This version was in a recording studio.. but the one he sang on the 1965 Andy Williams show is the mountain top. Maybe never to be topped.

At 77 years old, when I hear Bobby Hatfield sing this song I get kinda fuzzy inside and think of only one woman.

After listening to all of the other versions of this song it would have been a harder question to answer if Bobby Hatfield was not included. Hands down he made this song

The only thing that matters less than who sang Unchained Melody BEFORE Bobby Hatfield was who sang it AFTER Bobby Hatfield and now that I come to think of it, it simply doesn’t matter who sang it BESIDES Bobby Hatfield. Does that make sense? I think it does.

Only Bobby Hatfield had the voice for this song. Hearing the original version is no match to how Bobby could create a beautiful heartfelt song to be a great hit. He had the voice to capture everyone. Absolutely love his god given voice .

I agree with Hatfield as the nr 1, although I dont instantly flip when Elvis or the Orbison appears in the flow.

I'll always love Bobby Hatfield's rendition of Unchained Melody but Roy Orbison's was a close 2nd. When I hear this, I think of the soldiers who are overseas fighting in a war, missing and longing to be with the love of their life.

I was meeting my very 1st boyfriend that night. This song came on, and whomever was playing 45's kept playing it over and over. Sad to say I had never heard it before even though it was 3 years old by then. Needless to say, every time I hear it now, I remember him and the coffee house where we met. I still listen over and ovwr again. I love the Denmark version the most. The richness of voice and symphonics is tremendous. This is the song that is at the top of my charts. For me, it is a sad love lost song that brings me back to one of the greatest loves in my life.

Bill Medley said about Unchaiined, that the reason he’s not on that cut, is that he was too stupid to know how good it would be. I knew Bill in passing, he spoke glowingly of Bobby’s talent and how lucky he had been. It was the movie sound tracks that brought them back

No mention of the mid-1990s version by British duo Robson (Green) and Jerome (Flynn), sung by the characters that they played in an episode of the British drama series Soldier, Soldier. In the story, they stepped in at the last minute (as "The Unrighteous Brothers"!) to replace the band who were due to sing at a colleague's wedding but who didn't turn up. In real life, following a lot of public acclaim for their performance in Soldier Soldier, Robson and Jerome were persuaded by Simon Cowell to release a recording which stayed at Number 1 in the British charts for about six weeks. We'll draw a discreet veil over the Vito and the Salutations' version - not the finest rendition of the song I've ever heard ;-)

I am proud to say that I was among the very lucky ones to watch and listened to The Righteous Brothers perform live at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City back in the 80's. To listen to Bobby Hatfield sang one of the most beautiful and iconic song ever written was pure heaven. I have watched and listened to some of the great solo performances of Frank, Elvis, Tony, Matt. Sammy, Nat and many others but Bobby's solo rendition of Unchained Melody TOPS THEM ALL!

Bobby had NO idea that they'd played his song in the movie until someone told him. It was again climbing the charts so he went in and re-recorded it. As much as ya'll want to give Bobby full credit, Phil Spector gets some since produced it as the B side of a song called Hung on You.

Not even a comparison Bobby Hatfield killed it, all the other ones are horrific compared to that. Elvis sounds like he's in a hollow door room singing to a ghost the young black man who started it well opera doesn't sound good and the other one doesn't sound bad but Bobby Hatfield owns it.

It makes me angry that the first release of this song was by both of the douet(?) With Bill Medleys battery smooth baritone blending with Bobby, it was fantastic. Never two people sang together so beautifully.

Everyone gives all the credit to Bobby, but there was Bill Medley. The original release of the Rightous Brothers with the best in my opinion. The blending of their voices is fantastic.

Long gone are those days of beauty, heartache, war, peace and everything in between. Especially, we had the music that TOLD THE TALE of our lives. Many of us are still here to talk and after so many years OUR TIME was the GREATEST , MOST WONDERFUL TIME TO BE ALIVE. I can say that now at 75 that nothing beat the 60 and the 70’s. We were and are THE BEST GENERATION.
