Still not working properly. Im almost maxed out on effigy just 1 point short. Also played cutom game with max sphere catch rate and still hyper sphere gets bounced.

If by bounce you mean the sphere gets deflected, that has nothing to do with catch rate. A pal that has high enough health hit from the front can deflect it even if it's 100%.

And yet y'all cry about it but the game is still in early access, ofc they will fix stuff that isn't working properly. I want you guys to actually work for a company, release a game and see how long it takes to actually get rid of the bugs and stuff. I bet most of y'all wont even be able to know where to start. Are you fighting ANY pals in this video to get the chances up? Or does it not matter? regardless of how many effigies, if you catch no battle, I think your chances are lower. can you test this?

So What I am seeing something these “tests” are Not doing. However these tests are true to the capture rate based on one thing. ABSOLUTELY 0 damage done to the Pal in which capture is going to be done. As one logically can determine, UNHARMED PALS no matter what the LEVEL will have a higher chance of resistance and will break out. What you show in both cases is such a thing. 0 Damage to all pals trying to catch with both Effigy and without. How can one determine if it is TRULY A BUG, when mechanic of the game REQUIRES at most instances for you to DAMAGE the pal before capture. Similar to all games that have you “capture” ANYTHING. I am calling horse shit for it being a BUG. You only showcasing captures without damage. A mechanic based on what is very likely a threshold % in which a pal must be damaged at base level of 1 and scales on some manner to level 50 with or without effigy.

I am trying to catch ten of everything out in the wild, and level 4's are showing 4% catch chance with hyper spheres. I am literally struggling at level 40 to catch the starter pals.

This would be more solid of an argument if you did multiple runs of each and average those. Probability is always a factor, sometimes youre not lucky and sometimes you are.

If you dont feel like doing all those steps to fix it you could always increase pal catch rate to 1.6 in the world settings if you have level 10 effigy or something Only works in solo though because everybody would have it

My friends and me also thought its way harder to even catch the first small ones than in the beginning. Now a lvl 3 cativa rejects the ball from behind like it just don't care, even when there is a 100% And in the beginning it never happened

I know your problem, you guys use a skillreset before... The devs say 1 week before if you upgrade the effigy and use a skillreset this will happen. Gratulations for doing that.

honestly, 15% difference from 100% different capture rate, 30 > 60, is kinda acceptable from math standing .. higher chance doesnt mean higher success. IRL universe wise, yes .. human fake rng wise, no. Its actually very easy to confirm this theory .. find pal you can capture barely under 100% .. like 95-99% .. upgrade effigy till you get 100%. Its possible its rounded up like from 99.8 to 100 and who knows how their math actually works, human rng is not really a rng, but even with 100% chance i would say having 5% margin error is okay .. though i have yet to fail a 100% capture chance in vanilla game. From the game data its visible that each upgrade gives higher chance, tested it, confirmed it. Visually no bug. I can also modify the data of each sphere to have same capture rate, can then upgrade effigy to increase it to precisely 100% and same, i have yet to fail a 100% capture rate past 3 days since i started playing new game. Thought maximum capture power is 47, so chance for capture gets lower with higher levels. This rng is nothing weird or uncommon, many games have the same, BDO, X-COM .. rng is not rng as other might think. You can fail 99% 10 times in a row, i know, it happened to me. Bu same from the other side, you can succeed in 0.1% 10 times in a row .. did not happened to me, but there are videos on internet. It could be true, or its also edited, display 0.1% but capture rate is 100% .. who knows. For me this testing is also unacceptable because you dont do the same .. you capture different pals, different levels, different zones .. pals by default have different numbers, statistics. Its expected to have this huge spikes in differences.

They aren't lowering your rates, they just aren't increasing them, so you don't need to restart, but yes the number displayed will be annoying because it's much higher than it really is

Myrsta's in depth testing has found that the bug is simply that the effergies aren't giving you the bonus, not that it's reducing your chance, so you don't need a new playthrough, just have to put up with the number being way higher than you really have

Doing a hypothesis test on this with an expected capture of 61 and an observed capture of 37 or less in 100 attempts gives a p-value of 0.00000105 which is very very high confidence that the true probability is lower than 61%. Based on getting a value in the range of 15% to 39% (1-[61% to 85%]) it likely means that there is a forgotten 1-x in the capture code.

do another one .. find pal with barely 100%, upgrade effigy so you have 100 and check .. you will almost never fail to capture. That means its working. Just having 90% chance for capture doesnt mean, you will fail 1 out of 10 times.

@doingmypart666 Your right about the 90% capture chance, but it does mean that if you fail 8 times that you might think something is going wrong. That's the point of statistical testing: taking the thought that something is going wrong and showing it with math. After doing that hypothesis test with n = 100 samples from the video, it is pretty clear that the true capture percentage is not the value displayed.

I went on the Unthawable Lake and saw two Wumpo, one regular and one grass type. Then I spent close to 80 yellow balls (or was it a hundred something) but they either bounced off from them, or they got into the ball and could not be caught. They both died... they'd rather died than being caught... so I guess it was due to me getting a lot of Lifmunk Effigies before that

I can get onboard with this as my playthrough seemed to get worse as I was going. Worse and worse cap rates. I thought it was just because I was dealing with higher lvl pals but then when I'm lvl 35 trying to catch a lvl 10-15 and having to use 5-10 balls it's pretty ridiculous. I had been religiously been collecting and turning in effigys as much as possible.

Glad someone actually put forth at least some small measure of evidence rather than just bad beat stories about how they didn't catch the things they wanted easily. Definitely far from a perfect test but it is a start towards making the argument that it is bugged, something is clearly not adding up here.

it works fine, ignore it .. higher chance doesnt mean higher success .. you actually need effigy to have any kind of chance for capturing higher levels. He also doesnt follow the same path and do the same, not same pals, not same levels and pals have random numbers, statistics .. one of the reasons why a group of one pal type, same level .. can have different capture chance. So on left he could be unlucky, trying to capture one who has higher defenses.

Don't worry, it's not lowering your chances, it's just not increasing it So your will get shown a higher number, but it's the same as if you had 0. Myrsta's tests have shown that. The numbers line up with the actual chance when you have effigy level 5. But the actual chance never changes from 1 through 10.

This info coincides with a 'patch' which makes skill-reset not remove your effigy progression. Basically removing an easy workaround for players. Early access is gonna early access... I trust that the devs will publicly address this very soon. Either refuting the testing method and offering an explanation, or immediately fixing the issue, one way of the other. I'd have liked to see a test on high-level creatures too, to see if the trend isn't following some sort of weird "level appropriate tames math". But for the moment, I'm gonna turn up capture rate. It's worth noting that higher level creatures are just straight-up harder to capture, so as you level, things get harder. And also that when you throw and see 50%... it's a 2-check system, so you have a 50% chance to fail, followed by say a 25% chance to fail... so a 50% start is really like 38% or so after calculating for 'both' fail checks combined. But this video shows a bug which seems to go way beyond any "skewed player impressions".

Supposedly according to another video’s comment the MEMORY WIPING MEDICINE also wipes your lifmunk effigy buffs so this bug is either linked to that one or can be undone. They should try and fix these absolutely fuacked up bugs asap. Pun intended

Ugh...this is why I really don't want to keep playing at the game's current state. It'd take me 10 tries even with a mega on a lv 20, 10 tries with a giga on a lv 30 at times. Thankfully we have great games out and upcoming.

I quit palworld deleted the game because of this bug... I spent fucking days collecting those stupid lifmunk effigy's and now my world is ruined because It takes multiple legendary balls to capture a freaking pal that's 10 levels under me

It doesn't actually reduce your rates, just isn't increasing them like they are supposed to, so you haven't ruined your save, but until the bug is fixed, those hard catches are still gonna be rough
