Regardless of colour, it's also important to know the source of your caulk as some can be contaminated. Others, whilst seeming satisfactory to start with, can go off very quickly if handled at all, leading to a messy discharge on surrounding surfaces, which can stain. You may even find a combination of the two can be more attractive and give a more satisfying finish.

It’s more of a problem with a loose door that’s gotten weak and sloppy from lack of upkeep. So rather than trying to worry about the right caulk get a new door. Get one that has been built correctly from the foundation to the frame and it won’t need all that filler to treat the gap issues from poor craftsmanship and poor design. Any door can wear paint and shiny decor and look good but real doors built by standards will last a lifetime

You have a lot of care points about my door 😂 the tenant had broke the tempered glass so I replaced it with wood and sealed it appropriately. I could get a new door, but the tenant didn’t want to pay for it. Neither did I. It’s also a metal door, and custom for an old house, but I’m sure you knew that.
