tbh there really isn’t a creamy switch, any switch can be “creamy” if you just overlube it or use foam.

@mikeytypes 10 сағат бұрын
I think that’s like right and wrong at the same time just because it’s a personal preference thing. That’s why I say creamy vs Thocky is an incredibly thin line and depends on the person of what they think it is. Some think Marbly is creamy

Hello i was hoping you could help me understand creamy and thocky better. You are one reviewer i notice willing to reply, converse and share opinion or ideas That 'buttery' description for 'creamy', does it mean more thicker 'viscous' coated type of sound? I would imagine 3 diy woofer boxes. One coated with honey, one layered with foam, and one empty. Knocking on it, all are deeper sounding but would have their own unique signature frequency pass filter. When introduce a stronger knock 'pop' in, esp higher pitched, these boxes will show its unique characteristics more clearly by how it filters, one that could skew it toward either sounding creamy deeper, darker deeper and open clearer deeper? However if you introduce a deep low thud into the boxes, their characteristics would sound more similar than different. Im just postulating that, you actually need a certain strong knock that also produces high frequencies, like a loud switch in order to show 'thocky' or 'creamy' characteristics clearer and better? But i can imagine you could also just give a low thud on a normal box and it could sound deep too. I apologize in advance 🙏🙇 Am trying understand better and make sense. I was hoping you could chip in your take on it
@mikeytypes
@mikeytypes 2 күн бұрын
No need to apologize at all, I think you are getting very close to what I think is the difference between creamy and thocky. Like when you're typing on a "creamy" keyboard the sounds are more in line with each other where it feels like there is a flow to the frequency and not a sudden thud that comes with it. The number one thocky switch I chose the biggest different would be just as you said almost like a high frequency at the end that comes up afterwards when the stem hits the bottom. It has a deep sound profile to it, but has that sudden thump to it. While creamy switches I find have a quieter sound to it and no sudden high frequency that comes up at the end. Sorry I hope that makes sense
@yds1133
@yds1133 2 күн бұрын
@@mikeytypes Do you mean that "Creamy" has more highs filtered out and less open sounding? Maybe more pronounced filtering across both ends of lows and highs happening, perhaps preserving maybe more of the mid freq. I visualize 'thump' as having more reverberation on the low-mids. If so, does it mean that in comparison 'Creamy' sounds more 'compressed' sounding than 'open' sounding at the lows of 'Thocky'? But at the same time 'Creamy' can sound more 'focused" and 'controlled'?
@mikeytypes
@mikeytypes 2 күн бұрын
@@yds1133 hmmmm really difficult to like explain in just writing, but I would say that creamy is yes more controlled with holding the sound while thocky has more of a pronounced and louder sound when the stem hits the bottom. But again this is my opinion between the difference as I said in the video too creamy and thocky really comes down to a personal opinion of it as it's an incredibly thin line
