I had just started watching the show 2 days ago and had been genuinely enjoying it until an... "unwanted guest" suddenly appeared out of nowhere... ...Leeron. I have been watching all kinds of Japanese animation ever since 1968 and I SWEAR, Leeron is THE worst, most irritating character ever created in Japanese animation. His ugly looks are irritating. His voice is irritating. His animation is irritating. His expressions are irritating. The things he says are irritating. EVERYTHING about this awful character is flat out irritating as fingernails on a chalkboard. Even just LOOKING at him being PRESENT in a scene without actually saying or doing anything in a scene is completely irritating! He is such a completely flat out awful, irritating character that all by himself he single-handedly succeeded in completely ruining everything to the point of destroying the entire show! I was genuinely enjoying it and really getting into it until this character suddenly showed up and completely RUINED the entire experience! Just thoroughly and completely RUINED it! This character is the Yoko Ono/Scrappy Doo/Jar-Jar Binx of Japanese animation. What an absolute waste. Without him, "Gurren Lagann" was a genuinely engaging show that was thoroughly entertaining to watch. With him, it's a mess, and completely unbearable viewing. 😮 I WAS enjoying Kamina and company... why, WHY did that other character have to be tossed in there? I wish I could filter him out (or he very quickly gets bumped off).

Holy based what a great write up. I blocked him out from my memory because I had no idea who you we're talking about and had to look him up again. He was an awful character and unfortunately he sticks around from what I remember. The show is definitely still worth watching though.

⁠@@SillySeekerProductionsYou're absolutely rightright, he's an atrocious character - I want to watch the series as I otherwise enjoy it, but he keeps popping up it seems, I wish there was a way to skip around him. Maybe I can pay one of the enemies in the show to take him out for me? I wish! 😂
