Hey Dave (I hope I got the name right)! I just got asked to do my first ever sound system gig and am looking for some advice. So far the video is amazing, I was asked to set up speakers for a small Pilates studio so all I'm thinking is getting nice speakers with the Crown speaker amp. Most likely going to get a Bluetooth receiver and route that wired into the crown to get the sound into the speakers so the person running the session can Bluetooth their audio into the system directly. I'm wondering if you think this is an ok idea lol, I'm very young and just graduated audio engineering school so this will be my first job ever regarding audio systems! Also if there are any speakers you recommend? Not really looking into get and huge subs, maybe some nice wall JBL's although my backup idea is like a pair of Mackie 350's/450's. I know it's been 2 years since your upload, I hope this comment finds you well. Thank you in advance for any advice you lend me!

Say hypothetically at 5:47 you wouldve used XLR cable instead where would you plug in the XLR cable to get sound? I have a interface already set up externally and would like to just use that.

I am pretty sure there is, and could be done via the thumb drive and/ or computer app (maybe ipad app). I am curious now. It wouldn't hurt to do a Google or KZbin search for that very thing. There are several channels on KZbin that specialize in that sort of thing.

Yeah, the problem I was having was I couldn't get channels 1-8 to record on my Ableton during streaming because it was set to user 1-8. I was trying to see if there is way to do it without using Dante or other method of using expansion cards.. If I find a way, I will definitely let you know! Thanks for the reply :)

It “should” show up in the choices to change the audio to RodeCaster. If it is showing the RodeCaster check sound settings on computer. I will unplug usb & plug back in to computer. Try those things and let me know how it goes.

I saw your DBX processor…you using that as well? What do you like better?
@supplementalsound2690
@supplementalsound2690 2 жыл бұрын
I like both for different reason. The RodeCaster is easier to set up and get going. It is more "plug and play." Whereas, the dbx is an analog processor and certainly has a better preamp. Hard to chose between them, so I bought both. I do use the RodeCaster more because it is just so much easier to turn it on and get going. The dbx needs to be plugged into audio interface, then to computer. The RodeCaster is more convenient, but the dbx gives a more professional sound, if you are really into audio.

I use the rodecaster pro with streamyard and I love the results I am getting. The only issue that I am experiencing is when I livestream to Facebook. Anytime I use the sound pads and one of the guests on my stream starts to speak, the audio gets muddy. I can never hear the “applause” sound effect in the background smoothly. It’s always drowned out and muddy. Any advice?

One note when routing to a linked pair of mix busses is that mono channels will still send to both busses. If you're doing some panning for your main mix and want that replicated on the livestream mix, you'll have to set your panning on each input channel's linked mixbusses as well. Also, linked input channels will already pan left and right automatically on the linked mixbusses. We also have this mixer at our church, and it's been great so far! Hope this helps!

@joshuavalle2397

@@benfavourmusic Hi, I hope you were already able to discover how to do this by the time you read the reply, but if not, just select the channel where your toms are assigned. Press the "Home" button (top button beside the screen), and then navigate to the "Sends" page. Follow to controls to get to your Mix Bus that is sent for live stream, and select "Link". This function works in pre-set pairs: 1-2, 3-4, etc. You won't be able to pair say 2 and 3. Hope this helps!

@@supplementalsound2690 it's the AUX send of the MAIN mix. It's easy, search about. I run the main mix around -18, -12 and send to matrix 1, 2 (PA); matrix 3 (Subwoofer Out) matrix 4 (Mono for media or last minute feed) Matrix 5, 6 (record or stream out). The Main Mix don't have any EQ, probably a ligh compressor. When i need some eq i do in Matrix for the output correction.

You could but it'd be a shitty mix. Drums board mixes are never good. Mix it through a DAW and bonus, record the show.

Got the answers from the chat feature in Streamyard. See below. SY will record both the call in and sound effects from the Rodecaster but will not produce separate audio files for those elements of the recording. You can get the separate audio files for the call in and sound effects if you record to the Rodecaster Pro at the same time you are recording your SY video. You will get one audio file (not two) for two mics that are plugged into the Rodecaster when recording in Streamyard. You do however get separate audio files for you and each guest. Even if you had 4 mics plugged into the Rodecaster, Streamyard would only see that as one source so you'd still get one audio file. But it's great you'll still have all the separate files on the micro sd card in the Rodecaster that you can record multitrack too.

Thanks for this video. Do you know if the "call in"( bluetooth/wired phone) feature of the RC Pro will end up in a video recording or the sound effects when RECORDING ONLY in Streamyard. I am thinking the channel 1 slider isn't gain, it's volume, there is a difference. Gain setting is amount mic is picking up in the Levels setting that Rode has set for each channel. If you aren't using a cloudlifter, you have to turn that gain up in the Levels section, then also turn volume slide up as well. Just an FYI, I fiddle with mine for months to figure that out.
@supplementalsound2690
@supplementalsound2690 3 жыл бұрын
You are correct. The fader is volume. Gain is set in the levels screen for each channel. I may have said something else in the video. I have experimented using the CloudLifter w the RodeProcaster & Rode Caster Pro and I have concluded that is not needed; however, if one wants super clear audio and wanted to add clean gain, that will not introduce noise, I would go w a CloudLifter.
