Howdy from Texas, your slap tone, for my tender bass ears, is the best that I've heard, period; may I "borrow" it? I much prefer pulling then a thump or two behind. What's your string height action set at? Nickel or steel (me a steel guy). Thanks. Eric. Sugar Land, TX. Flamenco guitarist then bass (4 yrs in).
@jmarbly5 күн бұрын
@@sugartx I appreciate the feedback. You are more than welcome to borrow it. The strings I use are Elixer nickel nanowebs. The action on my bass is very low. I love my Marcus Miller bass, it has one of the best necks in my opinion. The model of the bass I’m playing is a Marcus Miller Sire P10dx.

Hey, Jeff! I just found you this morning as I'm preparing for church. New subscriber, very likely from the same era of music as you. I have an Ibanez SGR 5-String Style Sweeper. I paid a little extra for the finish, but it's a lovely bass. I like the tone in this video and look forward to hearing more. I experiment with a variety of strings, but I have long been a fan of Dean Markley, but developed a liking for DR Fatbeams. I'll be checking with you from time to time. 🤘🏾✌🏾👌🏾

Hey Jeffrey! Just subsribed. Been playing bass for a long time. I currently play an Ibanez 6 string, and have been playing it for the last 10-13 years or so...I never mess around on the High C, and rarely on the low-B so I am looking at getting another 4 string. I have been looking at the Sire basses. They seem like they sound good, and wont break the bank!?
@jmarbly11 күн бұрын
@@discgolfdad8947 I get what you’re saying. A six string bass is very comfortable for me. Depending on the style of music, I rarely use the c string. The b string I use quite often. A 4 string might be right for you.

Solid, solid axe. I regret selling mine back in the days when I used to play. That switch is actually called a slap switch. It scoops all the mids out. The fingerboard is actually not ebony but ebenOl. It's a synthetic that Fender was experimenting with. The Neck is chunky but I loved it. Cut through any boomy mix like nobody's business.

You went really fancy on us with that V10, Doc. I got the original V7 when Sire first came out. Glad I did because Sire's getting more expensive. Nevertheless, my biggest regret is that I modified that bass a little too much. I routed Barts humbuckers + TCT pre-amp. That bass didn't need ANY mods. I really miss playing bass.
