@matchuyee3 ай бұрын
To even get to that point you have to have a certain level of raw speed that the average person simply doesn’t possess. no matter how hard you train you will never be that fast unless you were born with the right amount of fast twitch muscle
@willm58142 жыл бұрын
10.5 is really freaking fast! and I’m not just saying that because I’m a slow white guy - as the other commenter said, that’s faster than 99.999% of people on this planet.

@Kelvinllovejr2 жыл бұрын
Naw they are just in a lower division. D2 and D3 are for the kids who couldn't get into a major university to run like PAC12 or ACC or SEC. Pretty much just allows slower runners to continue running after high school when they wouldn't have a chance otherwise.
@iTpnk2 жыл бұрын
The times aren't slow? 10.5 is very fast most people can't even break 12 or even 13 in the 100m. Not everyone is gonna run 9.9
@guccidan20262 жыл бұрын
@@iTpnk That's because most people are 70lbs overweight. Absolutely disgusting.
@iTpnk2 жыл бұрын
@@guccidan2026 even people who are not overweight can't even run under 12. Yeah 10.5 won't make it to the finals in D1 or Olympics, but that doesn't mean that it isn't fast. The others are just crazy fast.
@guccidan20262 жыл бұрын
@@iTpnk My BEST has been 10.8 and I'm just some average sprinter. But what you say is likely true. The average person is remarkably unathletic in all aspects. Shit is pathetic. Everyone should be able to run 11's.

y’all trippin. 10.5 is fast no matter what age or division you in. y’all acting like the average person who don’t train just wakes up and runs a 10.5. Running under 11sec in not easy. Smh. Anything from a 10.9 & under is very fast

Melly you nailed it. My best time was a 10.62 & everyone thought I could break the world record bc of my potential but I didn't understand track bc I was a football player. I didn't even have a coach to teach me how to run more efficiently. And to be honest I didn't run 10.6 consistently. That $hit wasn't easy at all. I was injured most of the time & I over trained. It's not until now that I've learned how sprinting really works bc of the internet. But back in the 90s I was clueless. Honestly if these guys in this race trained with good coaching & stayed healthy, they would be busting low 10s to sub 10s. People truly don't know what it takes to become a world class athlete. It's a hell of a commitment. Usain Bolt & them trained really hard & diligently. But more importantly, they had very knowledgeable coaching. There is no way Usain would have accomplished what he did without Glenn Mills. Impossible. People just don't get it. Even 11 something is very good for most sports. A little perspective, Chris Johnson & John Ross both best legal 100m times were 10.66. People don't get it man, you're so right!

You are correct sir.
@michaelmisczuk11882 жыл бұрын
Just for the sake of discussion, say the average person of this subject is male and 18-35. Most don't know how fast 11 seconds is for 100 meters. Line up with a sprinter and go. When he leaves you behind you'll comprehend running speed. Now, back to the average person. Go with those whose weight is in proportion to their height and type of build. There'll be a lot of 14 and 15 second times. Then, they'll go higher. 100 meters is very short in running distance, but very long when you are inexperienced and have to go ALL OUT. You will go into oxygen debt. And, forget about the average guy training for it. The vast majority wouldn't go a month. Of course, people would give up after day 1, then day 2, etc. They'd be limping to the exits.

Yup. I mean when I was in high school in 2004 10.3 won the state meet. There was 2 10.4s and about 3 10.5s in California. But they ran 10.4s in random meets in Texas high school all the time. Really 10.2 and 10.3 are normally going to be the top high school times every year with a few exceptions. I remember in 2003-2007 they had some high schoolers go 10.0 and 10.1
