Wonderful video. You guys are an order of magnitude fitter than I am, so when I go on the AV 1, I will be doing probably complete it in 20-22 days. This has been most informative and entertaining and engaging to watch, as have your other videos. Thank you!

Hi Simon, Interesting video. A flaw that I see in this backpack is the impossibility of storing the smartphonr in the front because the pockets are too narrow. Do you agree? Where do you keep it to have it at hand, to take photos or check the track?

Nice review and outstanding results! Im also thinking of doing that, but I would like to go with my own sleep system and not sure if I fit into 25L, I could probably exclude gas/stove and rely on food in the refuges/villages.

Thanks ! I tried to think about how to fit a sleeping system in It too but I could not find a solution. Maybe with a bivvy Bag instead of a tent it could work.
@EdgarSnowSki

@@simonnonstoppa126 I have 1p pyramide tent (850g). I can see the xa 25 has a side straps, so in theory attaching tent and pad to sides, should provide more room inside the pack. Whats do you think about this idea? My sleep system is 1.9kg and if be minimalistic on stuff, I could probably fit into 4kg weight to carry. Also will have a look into ultimate direction 30 pack witch looks more roomier. Cheers Ed
@simonnonstoppa126
@simonnonstoppa126 Жыл бұрын
@@EdgarSnowSki yeah good idea, the only issue is that evrytime you open the pack those straps lose tension and you will have to re-adjust the tent position. You could try and see , but possibly the ultimate direction would be a better solution. Have you check Jeff Pelletier's video ? He is putting lots of stuff in the xa25 have a look.

Nice video. You did a great job capturing the scenery and the trail. We'll be doing this section in August - well, over two days, not one! Did you think it was worth the climb to see Fenetre d'Arpette? The standard route goes through Bovine, which has a cool restaurant that serves an excellent cheese fondue. It will be hard to choose which way to go!
