@StinkyT0fu15 сағат бұрын
@@roboks2k Hard to tell just based on the video. At these lap times and speeds we're talking margins. TBH there isn't much time on offramp from what I can see. I think in general I try to take a little bit of a tighter line and hug more of the inside curb if your car allows you to (i.e. clearance from splitter and/or three wheeling). Whether or not that is faster I don't know and even if it is it's probably negligible. Sunrise: I think maybe you have turned in a tad too early and hesitated with getting on throttle. You had plenty of grip on the exit. Sunset: Seems like you might be coasting too much. Which means you can probably brake later and harder and trail into the apex a little more. I'm right there with you trying to break into 54s. The struggle is real haha.
@roboks2k10 сағат бұрын
@StinkyT0fu Thank you Tim for the suggestions, I appreciate the help and I'll really work on it. I'm fairly consistent, but constantly making the same mistakes. So hard to correct 😆 I'll work on getting a little more out of the brake zone. Coming in a little hotter should stop me from apexing early too 🤞 I've been down 5mph through the bus stop and I just couldn't get the min speed up to 85mph. That was the reason I was out testing again. I think it's a shock valving issue instead of a confidence or grip issue. The car just isn't eating the curbs and soaking up the landing well right now. Something is off in the rear, and I'm thinking about how it "feels" the entire lap. Theoretical lap times are in the 54s, so I know it can be done! However a perfect lap is a lifetime goal. I want to be able to bang em out like clockwork. Easy peasy you know. Driver improvements in #1, but I think there are 3 issues I need to address. First the motor is tired and down on power. She is down 30+ psi in one cylinder. I need to rebuild. Secondly I'm not 100% certain that it can be done without using a better tire like the RE71rs or A052. RC1 is great, and I prefer its characteristics; but ultimately there is more pace in those tires. Lastly, the new shock valving is great, but there is a rear movement that I don't like. I'm not sure what it is just yet. It feels like there is too much stroke being used. It's a deep oscillation. It's so confusing though cause in reality it could be jacking from too much rebound, which is exactly what it "feels" like it needs. I think the spring rate is right at 700lbs. Maybe it also needs +or- 50lbs. It's so so hard to tell and takes serious time and energy to test. I was really close before the new valving too.... Another thing to point out is 55s on stock power is well within the "danger zone" IMO. The margin for error is so slim that in reality to just be able to bang out 54s cleanly I really believe that there has to be an improvement from me, but also the grip and power levels. Then 53s should be on the table.

what are your thoughts on this tire compared to the v730?
@roboks2k8 ай бұрын
The Nexen is faster but not by much. Somewhere between .3 tenths to .5 tenths. The first lap is for sure faster than V730, but after that they are pretty close. After a couple of days they are identical in pace. That shouldn't be you only criteria that you consider though. The Nexen has terribly soft sidewalls in comparison to the V730. It also can not take nearly as much heat either. After about 4 or 5 laps you have to manage heat. The V730 can handle much more heat and stays faster through out the second half of its life.. or after about 3 day. I've PB'ed on 6 day old V730s. Nexen is falling off pace by day 4. Outside of being faster out the gate.... the only advantage I would give the Nexen is that it is a fun tire to drive. It loves big slip angles. You'll pay for that type of driving on the V730.
@datttdo8 ай бұрын
good to know thanks when you say "you'll pay for that type of driving on the V730" are you referring to less progressive breakaway characteristics?
@roboks2k8 ай бұрын
@@datttdo No. V730 is very progressive but rewards a tidy driving line. It rewards precision. Whereas the Nexen isn't fast unless you're running large slip angles. V730 acts like a true racing tire, the Nexen runs like a track day tire. Try them both.
