Interior Health, the health authority serving British Columbia's Southern Interior, has faced allegations of discrimination, including specific incidents involving the Sikh community. Discrimination Against Sikhs: In January 2024, the Gurdwara Guru Amardas Darbar Sikh Society in Kelowna raised concerns about the treatment of Dr. Malvinder Hoonjan, a Sikh physician, by Interior Health. The society's president, Surinder Singh Shergill, accused the health authority of "persistent harassment and discrimination" against Dr. Hoonjan. The issue originated in 2019 when Interior Health relocated vitreo-retinal surgeries from Kamloops' Royal Inland Hospital, where Dr. Hoonjan practiced, to Kelowna General Hospital (KGH). Despite the move, Dr. Hoonjan was not granted surgical privileges at KGH, prompting a prolonged appeal to the Hospital Appeal Board. Although Dr. Hoonjan eventually secured a position in KGH's surgical department, the board criticized Interior Health's conduct as "problematic" and "troubling," noting a lack of responsibility and compassion toward Dr. Hoonjan. CASTANET In July 2024, the Hospital Appeal Board further condemned Interior Health's treatment of Dr. Hoonjan as "simply appalling," ordering the authority to pay $20,000 toward his legal fees. The board emphasized that Interior Health's actions fell "markedly below the standard to be expected," necessitating a cost order to signal that such conduct would not be tolerated. CASTANET In contrast, in June 2021, Dr. Albert de Villiers, then Chief Medical Health Officer of Interior Health, was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference against a child for incidents occurring between 2018 and 2020 in Alberta. Following his arrest, Dr. de Villiers was placed on paid leave and later reassigned to administrative duties. In February 2023, he was convicted of the charges, leading to the termination of his employment with Interior Health. Subsequently, in June 2023, Dr. de Villiers was sentenced to 5.5 years in federal prison. This shows the irony of Interior Health. Ran by goons. GLOBAL NEWS CASTANET These incidents have prompted Interior Health to reinforce its commitment to cultural safety, humility, and the implementation of anti-racism policies to foster a more inclusive and equitable healthcare environment.

Our hospital has turned into nothing but a place to hang out for fentynal users and drunks to later get free food sandwiches ice cream pop coffee and tea and some chairs and other people to slump against.........it's like this on a daily basis and the people in the ER waitingroom are being turned away because they take precident.......they need to kick those users out so productive people of society can be seen and not wait from 10 am to 6pm to just be turned away from WL to go to the ER in 100 mile. There is no need for any of the hospital expansion in WL because there is no competent staff and the nurses just sit behind the desk on the phones in a circle all giggling and running errands and a steady supply of sandwiches and pop tea to the people laying about the ER waiting room high out of their minds or being disruptive or violent with some poor person waiting to see a doctor........today there was a drunk with a muddy sleeping bag and muddy boots and beer cans in the childrens waiting area with the door closed passed out. He woke up eventually hours later and started kicking the wall hollering for a nurse and one goes rushing in with security (yes security) and all he wanted was water so the nurse brought him a bottle of water a pop a sandwich and two little bags of chips. What do we have to do all act like wasted disrespectful pain in the butt to get seen by the nurses and doctors in a timely fashion........when the ER waiting room is full and triage is empty you would think baby sitting drunks and users would be the last thing they would prioritize...... they've already ruined the sports arena and kids can't go there and play without being subjected to tweekers and drunks being violent and dangerous because of the discarded needles which a few were found full in the boys bathroon. Atleast that made the news and city council is stopping them from entering the sports arena for now BC government has turned fentynal users into a full time problem. supporting them and catering to their drug use and with safe injection spots in public areas is pure idiocy........all of society shouldn't have to suffer because a small demographic of people don't want to get help or accept it.........free needles clean drugs a place to pass out then get food.......real incentive there to change. Top use of tax dollars

I do not eat any veg can't stand it, I was basically a rice and pasta eater before D2, So:- Basmati rice I can eat, as it is long grain and breaks down slower so doesn't spike the sugar, I eat pasta as I live in a country that hasn't heard of D2 friendly pasta, I've had to learn to eat less (not a bad Idea anyway) Chocolate:- I was a complete addict so dark chock is survivable, also Zero sug drinks are getting better! Forget measuring and weighing Just gradually eat less and chicken works as a good filler, Watch sauces though as there are some with a ton of sugar, If you can eat veg and rabbit food good for you if you can't you can survive.

Watching this was a waste of my time because I didn't get even 50% of what was being said. I'd encourage you to please review all your videos and remove the background noise for the sake of listening. The noise is not necessary.

While this does provide good, general clinical information, not all of this applies to real world scenarios or holds up when you check actual detailed nutritional information. One example is mayonnaise. Most mayo contains plenty of processed sugar, so it should be avoided. I assume this expert is referring to home made mayo, which is mostly protein, but that isn't specified. The same can be said for peanut butter and several other things in this chart that recommends foods that are usually terrible for us unless we're buying or making specific variants of the food that are often brutally expensive or take time to make and spoil much faster. . While this is great general information, caveats are absolutely required. Please see a nutritionist who has extensive training and experience and ask them specific questions about the kinds of foods you can afford in terms of cash and time. A professional will be able to answer your questions even if they have to do a little research and help you create a plan that accounts for your budget and the time you have available to prepare foods.

Dietary fat does NOT make you fat. Glucose and insulin response does. Diabetics should avoid carbohydrates including all grains, pulses, beans and most fruits except certain berries. If you want to keep your blood sugar levels controlled, keep your carb intake under 20g per day. Don't eat after 6pm to minimise the dawn effect.
