Did u grind out the center bore on the 2013 FJ rims for the GU UTE ? as the stock ones are 106mm and the GU is normally 110mm ( I have dirty life DT2 and they weigh 20KG each ugggg ) ... I guess when my ZD30 finally goes belly up ( 130HP @ 560 NM rear wheel , 3" SS exhaust, Cross Country large Intercooler , and the ZL30 turbo , roo sys tune) I will retrofit the IZUZU 4JJ1 donk and be done with it... Anyways ,, with wheels ... Seems u only have about three manufactures who make 4x4 wheels with 110mm bore....

Ok cool , thanks 4 heads up.. 106mm wheel bore in the future. 😊 , Also if I went for a 2012 4JJ1.. I would rebuild it top to bottom, bal crank.. shot peened rods.. ported polished head.. u know all the old school stuff we used to do on older donks.. or it's the LS3 Chevy just to snub ones nose at RTA and general weener legislation.. yes all engineered but still a blast for the streets. The 4J11 was just the practical upgrade consideration... But LS still wakes up the 70s in me. 😂
@Reuben_rmr13 күн бұрын
@ balancing the crank, shot peening and polishing the head? 😅😅 That’s not going to help that the block and bottom end are that weak that the main cap bosses literally snap out of the block- this is the cause of the snapped cranks. Same as TDs. Blocks flex- cranks not so much ✋🎤 If your common rail zd30 blows up you’re doing something very wrong, appreciate your comment. I’ve been meaning to make a video on this for years and even started filming it. But the ZD30 motor is far stronger than most other 4cylinders. If they had denso fuel systems they’d be making more power. If they hadn’t been nicknamed the grenade after the Di variant more people would be modifying them as well.
@marty75413 күн бұрын
Well my 2007 ZD30 has only 120k genie KMS on her.. so she has plenty of life yet... I still like the LS3 upgrade. But for now it's ZD with roo tune, new ex manifold with tillex studs, cross country intercooler and a UFU ZL30 turbo... It's running like a dream.

@@zr2608 they are great. People think they’re clever for bagging them out and hating on them. They had a catchy nickname that’s the only reason they got a bad rep 💣 That was the non common rail Di version of the motor. The crd like these are unbeatable and insanely reliable. They will hold more power reliably than a td42 and they don’t overheat like a td either. Not to mention a the zd30 powered patrol kerb weight is 200kg lighter, which is a huge plus for people who think about these things 🧠 oh and they use less fuel, so better range from your tank

hey mate, love ur content! what’s ur thoughts on running the boost activated actuators and would it be safe to run a 20psi 1 on a untuned crd. just have a 3” straight pipe and aftermarket top mount
@Reuben_rmr8 ай бұрын
Great question man! We use gfb ones, most accurate and realisable. Have had too many issues with others, tilix work but they are too fiddly and I’m not a fan of mounting things on aircon lines. The best way to run a zd30 is off the factory solenoid. This is how you make the most power efficiently, making boost is more than just the turbo pulling vanes to meet target boost. Changing fuel calibrations in the tune will drive a turbo harder and make target better with vanes more open for flow for example. This is how RMR get the figures and drivability we do, the only way to achieve this and have all the low down torque as well is by tuning through the factory ecu with a new genuine boost solenoid installed. It’s the hardest part about tuning the zd30 crd and very few have the means to do it properly
@Swwa899 ай бұрын
My crd got tuned at modified a few years ago now stock turbo and injectors although i have replaced injectors and pump. 21psi safe tune made 175hp and 470nm had to upgrade to a gfb v2 boost controller and its been reliable as for years now nearly at 300k!!! Definately makes them much nicer to drive
@Reuben_rmr9 ай бұрын
Yep so that’s about 140hp at the wheels and 400nm. Mod have a hub Dyno we have a chassis Dyno so figures are lower. Our percentage gain is larger though. What was your power and torque stock on the hubs? It will be on your Dyno report
@Swwa899 ай бұрын
@Reuben_rmr 105hp and 299nm. Tuned 3.5 years ago and probably done 70 odd thousand ks in that time drives super nice maybe I got lucky with the tune. I rarely tow but plenty of 4x4 mainly soft beach and dune stuff I do have an exedy clutch with smf aswell
@Reuben_rmr9 ай бұрын
@@Swwa89 they are great and strong motors. One of mine is 300hp and 315k 😁 So you put down 105hp stock, let’s look at percentage gained here, because that’s what matters. Two figures from the same Dyno. The Dyno is a tuning tool and they read different depending on style- hub or chassis and also tyre size on chassis. Hp gains, you have a 66% gain over stock if you started at 105hp. Untuned run for my guy was 90hp so that’s an 88% gain 😲 Torque gain on yours 57%. Torque gain on ours 61% we can achieve a larger torque gain than this one, we were conservative, as we were looking for nice smooth power delivery.

hey mate i have a 01 patrol zd30 needs more power but only have the money for a tune, how much hp would i expect if i came to you guys?
@Reuben_rmr9 ай бұрын
They put down 70-80Hp and can make anywhere between 100-130hp depending on fuel system health, turbo health and intercooler size. Torque is doubled though, they go from 160-200nm to 340-400nm which is a huge jump up. It really brings the car alive with torque earlier with gained response. Head to the website RMRDIESEL4X4.COM

Whatever it is, for the performance gain and improved economy it’s the best mod you can do by far. The tune itself is usually cheaper than the exhaust fitted, for reference, for most of the diesels we do. Cost is far from a right leg, especially when you consider you get a fuel saving. Even going all out power with our calibrations you’ll save fuel purely on efficiency gained
