I purchased my DX5 in may but didn't use it right away (I tend to do projects in spurts). Did a few mending's and everything was working fine. Then sewed a couple of garments dropped the feed dogs for a little free sewing and now they won't fully engage. Only the back of the feed dogs come up. I've switched the lever back and forth but they won't reengage. Any suggestions? I don't have any Juki dealers any where near me and had to purchase my machine online through a dealer 3 states away and don't want to have to pay a $100 just to ship it to them to look at. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Feed dogs do not pip back up. Makevsure the switch is in the up position and run the machine. They will fully engage aftervactevolution. This is designed as a safety feature to be sure all the pieces are in sync.

After I cleaned the lint from my machine, the bobin case clicks every revolution. What happened, did I do something wrong?
@LaraYost Жыл бұрын
@X Arnett - did you find any solution to the clicking? My new Juki (I've had it only 2 weeks) just started clicking today in the middle of sewing! I've followed all the recommended trouble-shooting, thread-checking, lint-cleaning, bobbin-changing suggestions that I've found so far -- with no luck. I would welcome suggestions from anyone who has had - and resolved - this issue. Please and many thanks!

I love this feature. I recently quilted (just simple straight line), but the smart feed worked beautifully with no puckering and even feeding.
@notesfromleisa-land2 жыл бұрын
I think you omitted a key feature of this machine: it comes with a straight stitching sole place with its own feed dog system. (Machine has two stitch plates each with its own feed dog pairing). With the straight stitch plate, the machine will not let you move the needle any place but center. Further, there is no feed dog spillover....the feed dogs are squarely underneath all the fabric edge to edge. On my Bernina, even with a straight stitch plate, I can click my needle over one thread's width to get a perfect scant. (My B 530 has no sensors, so I can click further over or forget which plate I have and do some needle breaking and timing damage.) This Juki keeps a rookie move such as that from happening. What I don't care for is the honking big bevel on the stitch plate. I'm used to perfectly recessed throat plates for smooth movement. It's beyond princess and the pea big. But there are so many wonderful things to love about this machine, it is a minor nuisance.

my needle threader gets stuck in the down position after i put the thread into position. I let go and nothing happens, then I proceed to wiggle the handle a bunch until it finally goes up, which does thread the needle, but it ends up taking longer than doing it manually since it gets stuck everytime. The machine is brand new and the dealer said it just needs to be 'broken in'.. is this normal?

An interesting block. One would have to determine if the waste is worth the size delta from a typical triangle in square. Another approach would be to make a cutting template for you middle triangle for less waste. I would do same for the flanking pieces as well.

How many lines of lettering can you do? And can a change hoop size to add more lines?
@SEWMINIThings2 жыл бұрын
As many lines as you can program. Each line of text is a new entry. Start in "Edit" mode and select the hoop size you want to use. The machine will limit the line of text based on the hoop you select and the letter size.

how do you create a scant quarter inch - use foot A stitch 003 and move the needle position further to the right?
@SEWMINIThings2 жыл бұрын
Adjust the needle position to 5.8 and then check the fold of the fabric to see if you have a 1/4 ". Not all fabric folds the same and some fabrics are a little thicker and may need 6.0 position.

How many oil drops does the wick need and how often should it be oiled?
@SEWMINIThings2 жыл бұрын
The wick should look dark grey when its wet. White when its dry. 1 or 2 drops about twice a year is all that's needed. Lint is your enemy. It absorbs lubricants and when you let it builld up and then remove it there homies your lubricant(oil).
