The meanest puzzle would give a crude drawing as a reward. I also had to look up significant hints on that one - needed the push on the color mapping and the sound sequences.

10:25 I noped away from the color puzzle when I first saw it. It ended up being my last puzzle to solve when cleaning up and I actually thought it was rather inspired how it gave a key and mapping so that every value could be deduced in the end instead of having to mess with color addition/subtraction like normal.

that pesky shift key and our "need" to press it when we shouldn't also love that the "gamers don't look up" mantra contributed to the length of this video too

The first time I played this game, I made the "mistake" you were afraid of: went into the mountain and got to "the end" and then told myself I'd come back and finish the candy later... and didn't. Started a new playthrough now years later with the intent to finish properly after watching your first video. Anyway, I remember that Floor Tetris puzzle being easy the first time I played, this time it was ridiculously hard. It's funny how perception of these puzzles change with time and mood, not just whether you are looking at it in the right way in game.

50:36 there's a cool Veritasium video from years ago which is relevant here. He says a sequence of three numbers and people have to guess the rule but are only allowed to say a sequence of three numbers back to him to try and work out the rule. He says 2, 4, 8. Then people guess... 1, 2, 3 : correct 10, 20, 30 : correct 4, 5, 6 : correct ... They keep guessing correct sequences. But they still struggle to find the rule. He says that it's actually better in this case to challenge your thinking. Don't go with what you know is correct, try to find something that will break the rule. Try to find the limits of what the rule is. You get more from Derek when he says that you're incorrect than when he says you're correct. Here you say "they're the same color so I'm trying to keep them together" but nothing has told you that's the rule. First, try to break that. Try to separate them. Try to make the puzzle fail. Only by doing that you can find what is required from the puzzle. And by doing that you begin to find what the rule is. 😅

Watching you struggle to count (and wow do you :) ) is fine as you work your way to a solution, watching you brute force a puzzle is much more painful though.
