Love the podcast! I'm curious what you would imagine NoVig looks like in a world where there's a crackdown on varying limits per user? As Matt mentioned, this could be catastrophic to retail books who rely on whales placing "entertainment" bets, since they'd likely have to lower limits for these players while raising limits for sharp bettors. Could this be a potential catalyst for NoVig's growth? It seems like there would be an incentive for sharp bettors to move towards more of a market making role on exchanges to provide the size that the whales would be looking for. Looking forward to future episodes!

I just had an image of Novig sponsoring the first "World Series" or "Super Bowl" or "Grand Champion" of sports betting contest...maybe call it the "Sports Masters"? Always loved the concept and idea. We would have GOATS of sports betting and ohhh imagine the coverage!

Jordan got to experience THE MOMENT of an Olympic champion, and nobody can strip her of that!! They can have the medal back now and give it to the Romanian girl. She will have a tainted medal that she clearly didn't deserve.
@rae9412 ай бұрын
I think that’s a none issue. They filed in the correct amount of time & have proof. However, they deducted points from Ana for stepping out of bounds when she didn’t. They also have video proof of that but for some reason, her points weren’t given back. She was the Bronze winner regardless of the appeal time discrepancy. That Brazilian pole vault girlie couldn’t find her pole to preform. She searched for 10-15 min before hand & had to use a different longer pole. It came to light the organizers put it away in the locker room with a bunch of other poles. Both of those seems shady to me.

The US team submitted evidence of the appeal being submitted at 47 seconds. So where is Romania’s evidence that it was submitted four seconds late? Seems like they were bitter their appeal was rejected.
@emilylee98942 ай бұрын
If the judges had done their job correctly in the beginning by grading JC performance difficulty correctly before either of the young women had performed, none of this would have happened. They should be reprimanded and duspended from judging for a year. The bronze was never given to the Romanian. So, it was not taken from her. She assumed that she had won it without waiting for the official announcement. If the US can prove that they inquired within the 60 second timeline, the judges ate truley incompetent and should be punished. The To pmanian coaches and contenders jad to know that the US had not received the proper scoring reflecting the greater difficulty her of her routine. They are progessionals with experience. Inly 60 seconds to contest versus more time allowed for the other contenders... NONSENSE!

The United States actually has video proving that Jordan Chiles' coach DID file her appeal in time - in 46 seconds - when she actually had 60 seconds to appeal. Kinda shady to pretend it was "late." Thank God for video.
@irenedemarco13542 ай бұрын
Jordan was in 5th....and her appeal upheld, whereas Annas appeal was dismissed Wheres the fairness?
@skyes73692 ай бұрын
And there is also video proving that Romania was deducted for going out of bounds when she did not so it doesn’t really matter.
@lindellq35222 ай бұрын
The US is appealing this decision because they have videos to show that Jordan chiles appeal was 46 seconds not 64 so she was not late

Next thing they will want to give medals to runners who came in last place and lost by 4 seconds. "because it's only 4 seconds"
@levigrant27082 ай бұрын
I don't think u understand what they meant in the video by 4 secconds too late
@capybaracake2 ай бұрын
Four seconds late for an appeal and four seconds later in a race are completely different. One completely changes your score by a monumental amount - ie race time. An appeal for the last performer having to be submitted within 60 seconds is an insane time limit and four seconds doesn’t change how she preformed, it’s just an arbitrary rule with an insane time limit.

You've missed the assignment!
@jojomasipa3792 ай бұрын
@emilylee9894 No he is not missing the assignment, if there are rules, stick to it and 4sec in sports is a HUGE margin. The judges needed to give both athletes bronze because they made the mistake. Romania was robbed to make a statement on the podium. But I didn't watch this Olympics and I am no authority.

@levigrant27082 ай бұрын
Sounds like the Olympics are becoming more and more of a joke filled with archaic and pointless rules, even if the situation is more nuanced only 60secs to appeal is ridiculous considering its allways gonna be the judges fault so you have to assess everything in under 60secs then appeal
