Ah, Simms corner. A tourists worse nightmare trying to determine who has the right of way. I mean even the locals don't get it, and really some people just flat out ignore who has the right of way and just go and hope they don't get nailed by someone else. They really need a web cam setup there, like they do at the Armdale Rotary, would be one entertaining feed.

Yep, typical Moncton scenarios. The one on the bike going down Main doesn't care I've seen them do that on busier streets than that section of Main St. I believe that car with no brake lights is an Elantra, they must have some problem with them as I see them all the time with one, two and in this case all 3 burned out. I guess at least the turn signal works, something that most people in Moncton have no concept on how they work and when to use them.

I stayed in NB for 8 months during the Covid Planned-Demic. There seems to be some unwritten rules of right of way that differ from Ontario. The people are great. In town drivers seem mostly considerate to a fault. But get on the highways and all gloves are off. Just remember when in a new place, you are the outsider that needs to learn the rules of the road, despite what you were originally taught.

I wouldn’t consider your driving ‘good’ by any means, might even call it a bit aggressive. @2:08 that corner in renforth has a speed limit of 60km/h and drops down to a 50 right after, you are doing at least 75 around the bend (just to go halfway into the oncoming lane) and about 70 coming up on that guys tail. You know people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

The driver of this video has a bad habit of not giving enough cushion space while behind some vehicles. If a driver passes you and ends up too close in front of you, you are suppose to back off or pass the vehicle if permitted.

@@drivingnbandbeyond One that pulls quickly in front of you like that is too unpredictable of a driver and is always best to back off and let them do their unsafe thing. You never know what stupid move they might make. I have always created a more than necessary cushion space for the last 18 years and it has paid off many times. Before that I didn't and had some nasty close calls and two minor collisions that would have been preventable if only I had created enough cushion space. A real good habit to get into, is not to accelerate the instant the light turns green, just do a simple double check in order to give you time in case someone goes through a red light. I know for sure if I didn't do this, I would be dead today, as a speeding exotic car flew through a red light at well over 120K in a 60K speed limit zone. Driving can be so much more fun and safe simply by practicing some safe habit. It's hard to create good new habits, but totally worth it. I use to race cars on tracks, and they teach you to always make your transitions as smooth as possible. I recall once riding a bus and a passenger beat me to it asking the driver if he ever raced cars because the transit driver always braked smoothly and accelerated smoothy plus his transitions were impeccable. It turned out he never raced cars, but took pride in his driving and cared about his standing passengers.
