I gotta say this movie is quite boring maybe because of the slow plot and somber soundtrack, but the visual aesthetics are amazing. It's no wonder it inspired The Matrix and so many other movies. Inner Universe is the perfect soundtrack for this movie, too bad they don't use it again for the live action movie. Also, I think the puppet master is the devil himself. He can possess humans but it's against God's will and would risk getting His wrath so the only other choice is to possess a cybernetic human, something that's not machine but not fully human either.

「目は心の窓」と言うけれど、少佐の瞳の絶妙な「あ、これは目じゃなくてセンサーなんだな…」感というか、不気味の谷を意図的に演出している描写がほんとすごい。

押井守が凄いのは、80年代から中国、韓国が日本にアイドルとか歌謡曲等の文化的に侵入してくることを予見していたところかな、それを高校生時代に見ていたけど信じられなかった。最早、日本は我々昭和生まれが知っていたクニではないのかも知れないですね。

To me they biggest joke about the live action Ghost in the Shell the the outrage that the mayor wasn't played by a Japanese woman and I was, You do realize the Major can have any body she wants? She was asked in the movie if she wanted a man's body and in one episode of the series she was a dog.
