I started recording VHS off the TV in 1988. By 2010 I transferred them onto about 250 DVD's. 20 years ago I could probably find these episodes in1/2 an hour. Sigh. Now I am 66, severely disabled and there's no way i am gong to search for it. Just seeing parts of it bring it back for me. Didn't like the boy episode...I couldn't buy the kid. Yet, I believe it will happen or already has. Back in 1971? that was far out. Just another sci-fi wha. Thanks for the post.

Borgus Weems and the Cemetary, "Oh Portefoy.... Weems? That poor man. Cemetary? That snotty spoiled bastard! 2 of my favorites. From the opening scene where he almost hits that distinguished looking bearded man on....on the edge of your seat. "Doc...cut it off!"

I was surprised the actress with the showiest role was Jeanette Nolan and the only acknowledgement of her was that she wore a lot of makeup! What about her performance?! I thought she was fantastic! She was reigned in - for her - and very ominously simmering through much of it and then when she did let loose - terrifying! I loved the special effects, too - when she triplicated herself in the kitchen I gasped! I liked this episode a lot more than you guys did. And the unmentioned Jonathan Harris too! Enjoyed hearing your perspectives though, and will stay tuned!

As a huge fan of these classic age movies, you're video is on point! Gold Diggers of 1933 is a great Pre-code era film that is just great in its own right! Catchy songs, amazing choreography, sets, and great production in all aspects down to its core. I own it on both digital and DVD (cause why not). I have gotten a few friends into old movies just from this gem.

One of the most original movies out there with a GREAT soundtrack. Haunting, captivating, cheesy fun! Highly underrated. And this is also coming from a Canadian (from B.C though-not Winnipeg)

I saw it in the theater the weekend is was released, and I'm pretty sure it's the first movie I drove to. I was 17. I'm glad to see it's gotten the recognition it deserves, it's brilliant on many levels. Everyone in it is perfect.

I'm a Joan Blondell Fan and I know her from many films, and am always pleasantly surprised when she shows up on screen in a movie I'm watching.... funny her character name in Grease, was "Vie", the same name, as her character in "Will Success Spoil Rock Hudson".

Bravo for all the wonderful work you put into making this video about "Gold Diggers of 1933" ! It may have been mentioned in one of the comments, but I would like to remind folks about the outstanding orchestrations and arrangements that were done by Ray Heindorf for this film. The combination of the work of Ray Heindorf, Busby Berkeley, the dancers, all the singers, story and sets make this STILL an exciting and important film 90 years later !

It's pretty obvious, but swan's character is paralleled in Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 anime, too, unable to die, using alien bands to build his empire until they die themselves!

Seen it many times! Great film with some fairly daring subject matter. It was pre-code. Ruby Keeler, "the fastest tap dancer to date" is an odd title. I always read that she was known for her rather awkward and clunky tap dancing. She was would always look at her feet when she danced, a no-no in the industry. Also her singing was like nails on a chalkboard. She was in a bunch of Berkeley films at the time, mainly because she was married to Al Jolson, a Warner Bros big shot. That said, Busby Berkeley was a genius. All his dance routines centered on groups, women dancing and moving in unison that created large spectacles that could never fully be seen or fit in any true Broadway theater. Nonetheless they were spectacular. Very different then the more intimate dance routines they were doing at RKO at the time, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

Saw this in the theater when I was 12. John Harrison's score was killer! Especially The Crate. Barbeau was married to J. Carpenter, the name on the side of the crate, and he was filming The Thing when she was making this. Great review!👍
