You need to wear a respirator when you use a hot wire on foam. It’s toxic girl.

your mushroom is covered with warts, therefore children should run away from such a mushroom as far as possible...

Just mix the dry mix with the tint. Two or three colors all worked on separatly ... at the same time

Can confirm polygem is top of the line epoxy. Made my snakes perch system with it 7+ years ago after being frustrated nothing on the market for purchase due to green tree python community settling for plain white pvc pipes but thats another story! This is an awesome way to make an enclosure background thanks for the video.

Very cool watching your pumpkin take shape. Those hot knives and cutters make short work of all that trimming. Dont you worry about all the particulates in the air from the foam cutting, shaving, and burning?

Nice! What glue did you use that didn’t interfere with the hot knife? (And what was that paste you coated the caps in?)

The glue was Foam Fusion by Hotwire Foam Factory. It was coated in Styroplast by Hotwire as well

Styroplast contains isocyonates which can kill you. Correct PPE would be an air fed mask, suit, gloves and eye protection...

Hi Kara! I’ve been a big fan since seeing you on Making It. You inspired me to go BIG for Halloween this year! I got two BIG blocks of foam for free from a local crafters FB group. Now, just need to carve two giant pumpkins to transform our house into Hagrid’s Hut! If I’m hesitant to invest in a bow cutter for my first project, what other tools might you recommend for shaping? Thank you in advance!
@karawalkerdesigns16710 ай бұрын
You could try a Sawsall hand saw or a jig saw. You can make a pumpkin without Hotwire tools but it will be harder and much more work

to make the eyes, mouth and nose black during the day you can use backlight rear light spray paint. that is a black transparent paint especially for car lighting. the light just comes through.

PPE. You're working with some volatile material and it can get in nooks and crannies and cause irritation. Also a bitch to clean off. Whenever I work on anything that's gonna give off dust, I always wear full clothing to avoid that issue and track it in the house. Even in summer. I just wear really thin layers like a track suit to breathe and even have a fan trained on me to both cool me down and blow the dust away.

Wow no mask. Heating foam is more toxic than smoking for decades and causes infertility, plus breathing in sanded foam destroys lungs... A role model to everyone watching on you tube. I don't care if you have air, positive air and are in a tent that is high exposure right there. If you're going to be a diy, a teacher or a hobbyist, learn some basic safety or go jump on the next cancer list.
