As a neurotic I totally identify with Carrie. Big - love, lust or addiction or all of them? Big had daddy issues too. Carrie did Not love Aidan. And he only loved his fantasy of her.

Carrie was rather a fearful avoidant than an anxiously attached, given how she behaved around Aidan. And the moment she felt secure with Big (i.e. after they got married), her more avodant tendencies showed. But yes, they had this anxious-avoidant dynamics anyway. I like your take because so many creators seem to miss the point. Big committed to Natasha and not to Carrie because she was what he was supposed to want, and she did not pose any threat to him. He loved Carrie, which is precisely why he behaved this way - because she triggered his fear of emotional intimacy. She has many qualities he lacked and likely wanted for himself - she was spontaneous, carefree at times, emotional and caring. The thing is, they wouldn't end together because none of them was willing to work on themselves and the relationship. Big would have kept her around until she'd be tired enough to get rid of him for good. This is not to say that the anxious-avoidant dynamics can't work - it totally can, but it requires work and very likely - therapy

It is amazing how well the show was crafted- after all, the characters are just fictive, not real people. I love your content!

This was a good take. It explains why I had a hard time watching the show. The content of SITC is a bit obtuse and unrealistic for my liking. I do appreciate the concept though. I do however enjoy the show “Harlem” which has similar sentiments. It’s realistic and less uncanny.

I LOVE that beyonce and the other few celebs, thats like her, IS private! I adore it. Look at Marilyn, Audrey, ALL the celebs in the beginning of 2000 - they felt expensive because we barely knew ANYTHING about them, and that made us want to know everything about them!

2 of many points: First of all, she is giving him such a hard time about cheating, it could make him want to hold back other kinds of information for fear of her reaction. She over-reacted there. Second of all, she gave him a hard time when he said he would sit and let her "do her thing" (shopping). What does she want? a husband or a girlfriend? Men are not into shopping like that. It's normal for men to sit while their women shop. It's not a man thing. Let him be the man he is! She should be happy he is into her and tells her he's head over heels for her and wants to be honest with her. She hasn't shown any appreciation for the man he is. Shame on her!!!!!! He deserves better. She should buy a puppet.

Also read her latest GQ interview where she's made it so clear that 'no amount of money is worth her peace, and there's no day when she'll ever turn her own life into a 'brand' she's happy to give you music and even music videos have been phased out, you listen to the music and get well fed on that.

People compare themselves to others, and no one can compare to Beyonce, and this is HIGHLY triggering to a lot of people, including so called 'self-actualised' people. There are also people who were raised with a very competitive streak that feel motivated to knock people off a pedestal, just because.

@@bharris4517 I think that during MJ’s time everybody was quite private because social media wasn’t a thing yet. Nowadays, because of social media, everyone expects celebrities to put themselves out there and be completely transparent about everything. If you’re somewhat of a private or introverted celeb in this day & age, you could easily be more scrutinized and considered to have "no personality" when it’s not the case. It’s very hard for people to respect boundaries nowadays because of social media and how fast paced everything is (celebrity or not).

Interesting analysis. This shows that it's an "us" problem and not a celeb problem. Over the years I'm always reminded how important it is to get to know people instead of passing quick judgements on them. And Beyonce operates in a way where she exercises agency in what she reveals about her life and it is never enough for some people, which always seemed weird to me.

She is so full of it ! So poor all she has is worthless fifa money 🎉 and she has no real voice just like most of them. They are no Ella and they all act as if auto tune did r correct all their FU. Celebrities are worse than the average Jo because they are sold out losers nothing special about any of them. You must not know any of them in person but some of us do. Wake up pls. They use them to push cult agendas and keep the populace down. We are all special, but not all of us are willing to sell out.

Catherine is better off with a therapist. I think Catherine actually really did like Freddie but insecurity started to creep in because she knows she’s not on his level. Even her asking if he’s cheated in the past came from a place of being insecure and needing to find an excuse to sabotage a thing she feels unworthy of. I don’t think someone like Sam or Ollie would be a “better” fit for her because both of them seem just as immature or insecure as her. Someone like Freddie is a good fit for her growth but she needs someone to hold her accountable. Catherine probably wants to be the one who has a leg up in the relationship to feel good about herself and I feel she doesn’t have an ideal type because she just wants a partner to make her feel good about herself in comparison to them. She can’t love another person because she doesn’t love herself. I think she may subconsciously choose partners who abandon or cheat on her so she can continue to play the victim narrative because that’s what’s been working for her entire life. And if she finds a partner that doesn’t match that scenario, like Freddie, then she begins to act out to create a self fulfilling prophecy of her partner cheating or abandoning her. Good analysis nonetheless.

Catherine was so immature to me. I get that she was adopted and she's got issues etc but come on..she feels the guy is too good for her so she self sabotages. She didn't know what she had. She needed to treat this man well. He is a funeral director, makes good money, kind hearted, he's a homebody, not mean was funny and had a good personality. I'm so disappointed at how he was treated. He deserved so much better. Also, I would never be concerned about a man cheating when he was younger. It would have nothing to do with me and our current relationship. Also, it seems she could have been slightly jealous of him because when she arrived on wedding day he said "wow you look so beautiful" she said absolutely nothing back and we all know how handsome he is and was. No encouraging him or making him feel good about himself throughout the whole entire show. Weird, insecure and Immature 😢 Sad she lost such a good pick. Girls get in line❤

@@AvaLynn85 Agreed ! I definitely think that she’s one of those girls who is psychologically attracted to more challenging partners because of her trauma & insecurities. She probably finds Freddie a bit boring and predictable and that probably does nothing for her. You can tell she’s already used to a certain toxic dynamic in relationships. Freddie is very good looking with other good qualities like you mentioned so I think that the blockage for her was probably psychological. I’m happy he said no at the altar because she was not only going to drain him, but she could’ve eventually cheated or worse, compromise his assets (lol her being against the prenup was crazy smh).

Spot on analysis and well said. I think she knew he was “too good” for her and she used the old playbook of trying to pick on him and bring him down. I can’t believe she said “yes” at the alter because she would be treating him like crap throughout the marriage. So glad he said “no”
