To this day this Beijing 2008 Olympic Champion Polish quad is still the best and most efficient quad I have ever seen. Even better than the Dutch quad, the 2019 World Champion and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Champion.

All your crews row incredibly clean at the finish, how do you teach it?

Hi Chris. Thanks for your comment. I'd say there are probably four factors that contribute to a clean finish. Firstly they must never allow the handle to hit the body at the back turn; secondly they must ensure that pressure is built against the face of the blade from catch right through to release; thirdly they must keep the button on the oar nice and snug against the gate but maintaining lateral pressure with the inside hand; finally they must get a good 'step' (tap-down) out of the water before rolling the blade back onto the feather.
