People in these comments saying Izzy wrote everything and its why they didn't have another album after UYI 1&2 because he left. If Izzy was that great his band (izzy and the JuJu Hounds would have been a success, they weren't. Izzy, Slash, Axl and a little Duff just wrote together great. When 1 left the magic left

Izzy & the Juju Hounds is an amazing record full of great songs. Listen to it sometime, you'll hear how good Izzy REALLY is, even without GNR. Somebody Knockin', Train Tracks, Time Gone By, Shuffle it All, Come On Now Inside, Cuttin the Rug, et al...it's aged incredibly well. Rolling Stone reviewed it and said that Izzy makes better Keith Richards solo albums than Keith Richards, right down to Ian McLagan on keys and a guest spot from Ronnie Wood...plus it's a better GNR album than Chinese Democracy, but that's a different talk show... The reason that album (and all his subsequent LPs) weren't wildly successful is because Izzy simply didn't promote them. Izzy quit GNR because he didn't want to be in a giant band. And he meant it. He hasn't done a proper US tour since he quit GNR. Because he doesn't want to be that big. Quit making assumptions, do a little actual research. Go listen to Izzy & the Juju Hounds, and then maybe you'll understand just how much Izzy was THE songwriter in Guns N' Roses and just why he is missed so much in that context.

@@drivingwheel9101 he quit GnR because he was tired of dealing with everyone so Fup all the time and arguing. The last straw was when Axl was late so he quit. Agreed to do 3 more weeks and was gone. I listened to that album when it came out. Wasn't bad but it didn't have a special song on it and if it did the video would have been rotated on MTV. Everyone talked about when Izzy left GnR, they were still big in 1991. 1st album came out in 1992, on Geffen records. You think Geffen is going to not promote the Hell outta that album. I still have that 1st album but I dont own any others that I'm sure he put out. Im Sure their Good.

You are correct on every count!! I think they used leftover Bon lyrics for Breaking the Rules Young’s could come up with that title and give Bon lots of titles to give him a start on the theme of the song The break for me where they completely ran out of his lyrics is between two songs Landslide and Fly on the wall

Patience was always a bit ho hum for me, on the studio version. Fine... totally decent...but not wood-inducing... [No ascending angles of "length" generated, from the hips... - 🚫🥖❗] But the live version if it, here...?? → the surprise fucken standout of the whole concert!!! 🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🤯 Just effing magical.... 😮 And that solo ...?? [ The patience solo/song was THE first solo (and song) I ever learnt. I got the tabs, and learnt it front to back: intro, verse, chorus, solo, chord change for the outro... and finally, the outro sting. And this new solo / & song version, blew it out of the fucken water! 🤯🤯🤯❗]

My friends and I saw them as 17 year olds with Izzy in summer 1991 and Skid Row opening, not long after this. To this very day, I still cannot pin point/describe how amazing of a guitar interplay Izzy and Slash were together. Izzy with Duff ad rhythm players and Izzy as songwriter. A lot of guitar shredder people in the late 80's and early 90's would talk about how magical Izzy and Slash were together. There was an intangible quality with those two. They lucked out with Gilby for sure. We saw GNR again a year later in summer 1992 and Gilby fit in great.
