I'm really glad you posted this. I come from a long history of karting and enjoy pointy cars. I only purchased the Cadillac, and got 2nd in my last race but was absolutely smacked by another driver in other cars, and barely held off someone in an Acura. I noticed in like 5 races there were very few Cadillacs, and thought maybe I made the wrong decision. All while, absolutely loving the handling of the Cadillac. But after this review, you made it clear I dont have to waste my money and test the others. It sounds like the Caddy perfectly fits my pointy preference. Which again, makes sense, I love the way it handled. I was just getting curious by the rest of the line up.

Mine qr lite was rattling like crazy!. I put a piece of tape between the wheelbase and stem so the wheel is now firm and snug, zero play and rattling anymore.. but of course i cant easily take off the wheel now, its there forever i supose.. becouse when i take it off i need to go to the whole proces to make it snug again with a piece of tape😢

The delay is not "on top of" the delay from the wheel. It is a delay AFTER the wheel button is processed. This is to prevent the sim responding to the "bouncing" of the electrical contact being interpreted as multiple presses. In other words it "debounces" the input. Zero will lead to mis-shifts and multiple presses being registered when only one actual press was performed. *Never set this to zero unless you are absolutely certain your wheel or button box already has a debounce delay.* If you are sure your wheel or button does NOT have debounce delay, you should set a minimum of 30ms and no lower. If you are sure your wheel or button box DOES have a debounce delay, feel free to set the value to zero.

ended up buying all of them over time. first was the porsche which is a good middle ground in my opinion but snaps quickly when the wrong move is made, next was the cadillac which is tons of fun to slide around is somwhat tame powerwise and fast within its limits but gets unruly when pushed too hard in the corners. next was the acura which is super darty and precise but a nice mid corner pushyness that isnt overbearing along with its v6 engine being tamer off the bottom due to turbo lag. the bmw was the last one and it rewards a lazy driving style like mine as its a somewhat lazy handling car but hangs with the rest just fine. all personal preference as far as which one works best

The laser scan settings and the gear debounce settings dont do what you are implying. The laser scan stuff is for tech tracks, nothing to do with ffb. The debounce is the delay in which you can press gear up again. It’s not a delay from when you initially press gear up to when the sim sees it.

I am going to try the shift delay. I already checked the Auto Blip in the GUI. Downshifts are extremely random specially the GR86. and only in iRacing other games are fine so not a signal issue from paddle.

@kelvinkuiper17955 ай бұрын
Misinformed video. Debounce doesn't add a delay on your shift, it only prevents shifting twice in X amount of time. It's useful to keep this value because you could sometimes double shift on accident. Laser scan settings I haven't tried, but doesn't seem like it should affect FFB.
@kyleshepherdmusic5 ай бұрын
Man, thanks so much for this video. Iv had issues with double shifting with my wheel rim for almost a year and changed the delay by adding 10ms and it stopped double shifting. Without this video I wouldn't even think to have done that. Changing it to 0 delay made the double shifts happen with every shift. Thanks man!

Just a note on the triples setting for curved, if you have triples, even if they are curved, you should leave the settings at 3 flat, iracing cant figure out triple curved.
@Zee20Ate6 ай бұрын
Either way is the same. Using the curved option your curvature is essentially the side monitor angle. Most people using curved option make the mistake of setting that to the curve of a single monitor, rather than correctly setting it to the curve of 3 monitors combined.
@joaomoretto4 ай бұрын
@@Zee20Atenice! What would be the correct value to use then? I have triples with 1500 radius each..
@Zee20Ate4 ай бұрын
@@joaomoretto depends on your side monitor angle. Monitor curvature doesn’t matter. It’s just the angle of the side monitor’s. So if you set up as curved you are using the radius of all 3 monitors. Not just the radius of a single monitor.

@Nikos4Life6 ай бұрын
Hi there! FYI: Laser Scan settings: - PointSizeMM - PointSizeMin - PointSizeMax - MaxLaserScanVidMem Do not have anything to do with FFB: "These have to do with the pre-release tracks we have pushed out from time to time. These are tracks with just the racing surface completed. The rest of the world is represented as a point cloud of dots from the raw laser scan data (this is a distilled down set of dots, the raw data is many hundreds of gigabytes). You can tweak these values to make the dots more or less visible." Best, Miguel
@SuperMelon20085 ай бұрын
Exactly. Even iRacing stuff confirmed these settings are purely on visual side and only for cloud point. So - take the authors claims with BIG grain of salt. Here in EU we directly call that 'bullsht"

pretty sure the shifter debounce, like all other debounces in electronics, doesn't add a delay...it prevents the second shift for 80ms. I can't imagine anyone needing to shift a second time within 80ms :D
@TeroD3336 ай бұрын
Exactly this
@JCRacing576 ай бұрын
in the text info next to the value it says "Add delay in Milliseconds to sequential shifter to reduce double shifts". So taking that at its word, it is a delay, but yes calling it a Debounce defenitally adds some confusion, either way it doesnt hurt to make it 0!
@TeroD3336 ай бұрын
@@JCRacing57 Wording is a bit misleading, I'd agree there, but it's probably chosen so to be understood by as many people as possible. If you think how a debounce works then you know it won't add a delay but instead doesn't allow another shift within the set timeframe.
@Kevin.Savoie6 ай бұрын
The 1st click is instant. After this, it wont register another click for the value in that line. This is in case your paddles or buttons don't accidently trigger to quickly and cause a double shift. With most racecars now having a safety built in to not over rev into the electronics, this is moot... but if your buttons have bad contacts in say the V8 Supercars that don't have that, you could downshift from 6th to 1st in a ms if the button registers multiple button presses for no reason.

@JCRacing57 I've seen it quite a while ago and never used 3 projections since then. So I checked again - they somehow blurred it. It is barely noticeable now, only if you know where to look. I can still find it, but it's definitely false alarm here, sorry. :)
