It is! I did not piece it though, a lady in Honduras did, and I did the quilting.

@@StitchedBySusan I knew that cuz I watched you quilting it. :) However, I just took an interest in EPP and realized that it looked like that method. A lot of work!

Thanks for the live tour! Great camera work. I've not been to such a large show in many years, so I'd definitely need a map. 😅 Loved seeing your hexi quilt on full display. It's stunning! 💜

Thank you!! This was a super great lesson. I used to have problems with wavy borders...not now because, now if possible I cut my borders along the grain. I have over 50 quilt tops ready for quilting, and in two day, I am going to take a look at a HQ Sweet Sixteen used machine. I am turning 65 next May and want to Quilt in my retirement. Thank you for generously sharing your valuable knowledge! I love your humility and humble way of showing us how to fix things. You are amazing! Thank you!!

Love the zipper backing. New camera & lighting is great! I like your thread color choice. I like the flowers and leaves, the little flowers are sweet. Personally I’m not a fan of the split screen. I think this baby will love her quilt🩵

I thought I liked custom quilting and worked toward that for my past quilts, however since finding and following you, it's edge to edge all the way for me now!! Ok, I will custom where necessary.

When I move on to quilt another area I use stickers or old address labels and put them in the area left unquilted so it catches my attention so I don’t miss going back to get it. 😉

N. Gardner asked how to remove smoke smell from cones of thread. Perhaps use ozone? I would place the thread and ozone unit in a confined, unoccupied space for several hours. Ozone is often used by car detailers. Worth a try, anyway! 🤞 Edited to note that I posted this comment prior to end of video and hearing another viewer make the same suggestion. 😊

Home Depot sells 18" magnetic bars that you can use and they are very strong magnets. I believe they have a knob or we added it but very helpful

I did not. It went on straight, I just had to advance for some of the long lines to keep them continuous.

Yes, I demonstrate everything in my domestic machine too. However, I don’t use a hoop, so that may require scaling things down in size.

Hi Susan, I have learned so much from you and plan to dive into the world of longarm quilting as a business. In the video you mention that you will list the color # of the exact threads that you like and use most often. I see a list of colors but no numbers. Could you please add the color numbers? I would like to place an order for my Isocord threads soon and it would be very helpful to have the color numbers. Thanks!

Ive given up on those side clamps. They are very frustrating and time consuming to use. A local quilt shop has a genius side clamp method that works awesome. They cut a red snapper top and bottom to fit 12" throat space and added a ribbon into the pipe section, tied a knot make a loop and then attached to the single clamps on both sides. This works so much better then the white clamps. Give it a try.

QQ. What speed is your machine set at? Please
@StitchedBySusan
@StitchedBySusan 9 күн бұрын
Depends! Sometimes I used regulated mode which achieves a specified stitch length no matter what speed I move, and sometimes I use UNregulated mode, where I choose the constant motor speed. And even then it varies - perhaps 1400 SPM for a larger design, or 600 for a tiny one.
