How precious! It’s just gorgeous. You have likely mentioned this before, but what is the watercolor pencil that you use to darken. What is the brand and the shade? Hello Chantal… Beautiful journal spread today and I love the portrait orientation that allows for lots of depth perception play between the elements. I also love when you add the gold highlights/outlining. I’m hoping to get my books out to play this weekend. I’m still working through my practice pages of a single element per page but I’m loving the idea of combining elements from a variety of the books in the same layout. I’m also loving the idea of combining background papers with imagery (whether it’s rice paper, scrapbook paper, or what ever) to help create the scene… I would eventually love doing a set each of the four seasons starting with the gorgeous autumn leaves that we recently talked about- I noticed the leaves just starting to change this week on my way to work. Speaking of work, hope the new school year is starting off wonderfully for you and that you enjoyed your summer holiday and were ready to go back. Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

Hi Chantal… Marta’s rice papers are beautiful… I was tempted by them, especially the new Set 3…. But… since I bought all 11 of her collage books and have only done 3 journal pages, I figure I really need to focus on those before adding more options to my very cluttered stash. I have a lot of Stamperia and Chia Bella rice papers that are screaming to be used. I also have SO many other options for mixed media, etc. because I like so many different styles. Well… for now, I’m ready for a bit of a break from thinking LOL … have a great rest of your weekend! 🙂

It has been such a treat to watch the 3 installments as this journal came together. I love open spine books I make them all the time as well as ring binding and twine binding. I just love the look I don't like the sewn in signatures anymore I like all other methods of creating signatures to be different and unique❤ very pretty⚘

Hello Chantal… your flip flop journal is coming along just beautifully! I had to laugh when you mentioned the possibility of sounding monotone because although I don’t think your voice is monotone at all, it IS very calming and inviting so when I started watching the video late last night after a long day, I fell asleep! I had to rewind so to speak to get back to where I last remembered… your giggle is also quite comforting and contagious! Did you dry the flowers yourself??? I’ve never seen them encased in plastic like that… did you use a laminator??? The results are stunning… what a perfect insert to that small frame! You are definitely tempting me to start yet another project but I’m hoping to resist and just add it to my ever growing long list of someday/maybe creative projects. I have a renewed excitement about my 49andMarket collections. I have some of their 6’x8’ journals with some content ideas. The one I’m currently working in uses the Alena collection and I’m incorporating Scriptural and/or Inspirational Quotes on each page. Thanks again for all you do to encourage and inspire!
