This company legit makes good tents. I have bought three of them, all of them kept the rain out, and withstood heavy downpours. The only issue is that they are VERY HEAVY, and must be completely dry before you pack them away or else mold will develop.

As a woman, I really would have liked to see her put it up. I say that because I have a 10x10 Kodiak and it kicks my ass every time I put it up. That's the only reason I'm looking at a 7x9 with hopes it would lighter, but it might not be light enough to make a real difference.

Can I shorten the ropes to fit a smaller camp site or do they need to be the lwnth originally? Finding the sides don't pull out completely square.

all of our tents are made of DYNADUCK fabric, with army duck cotton canvas and a water-repellent finish weaved into the fabric. No need for a rain fly! The water pills and runs right off.

Beautiful setup! But also Oof that wood stove is overfired. For cast iron to get red hot it needs to be above 900 degrees Farenheight. This comment is for people camping and glamping. I'm sure the tent owner has since put fire bricks into his stove and stopped over firing by now; but if you're renting a tent and see this then close the vents on the wood stove slowly to more to like 30% open so that it isn't taking as much oxygen in and starts to cool down. You should pretty much never have the vents fully open anyway. A little over half way open is more than enough to get the fire started then you should start closing the vents to like 10% - 30% open. It'll take longer to heat up initially but it'll still get warm and once the fire bricks and the stove itself are hot and if you keep the vents reasonably adjusted then you use less wood which means less time messing with the fire and more time relaxing and sleeping. Also start your fire when you have like 3 hours or more of daylight left so that it's going before nightfall and also dress warm and bring warm sleeping bags for camping and glamping even if there's a wood stove. That way if something goes wrong you'll be warmer while you figure things out/if something goes wrong.

Another important thing to note is that the Avalon will be harder to heat or keep cool, since it's significantly bigger. If you're going to do anything resembling four season camping, that's consideration worth including.

The quality of this brand's canvas tents is incredible. Had a 10 foot bell tent that i stayed in for 4 years from may to September. As well as bits of time during those winters. I'm probably going to live in one of their wall tents on a nice platform like wranglerstar did while I built my first homestead.

Dark colored tents, like the green tent, can be dark and depressing. You need to invest in a spark arrester for the top of your stove pipe.

The word Canvas is derived from the word cannabis, hence, the tarp should be made from hemp. Why is it made from cotton and called canvas? And how long is that wax coating going to hold up?

I have some of their large canvas tarps and I love them. I won't buy anything else. If these tents are made from the same material as their canvas tarps than I know they are outstanding. I'll be buying one of the wall tents.

Setting up my 16.5 I just picked up on marketplace for $700. - new is around $1,200 (?) and was used twice last year (I believe it). Thankfully, I already have a generator, microwave, toaster oven, Weber travel grill, stove burner, T V. with wifi, stereo, air compressor, air mattress, and electricity hook up. Now my dream of just doing chainsaw art for a living is coming true!!! Thank God for God. Peace/out!!!!

Thanks for irl set-up video of this beast of a tent! I've been wanting to see this. Absolutely massive tent, and beautiful. I've been delighted with the performance of my White Duck canvas bell tent. Their tents are, in my experience, absolutely wonderful quality canvas, and I expect mine will pass to another generation after I'm finished with it, with the proper care. I'm on the coast in the Pacific NW, and I would (and hopefully will) utilize my next White Duck tent year-round, with the stove jack, and a solar power station. I don't have need for this particular tent, as a solo user. I've set up the 13' bell on my own, and I'm a small, 61 yr old woman. Having left that tent on the east coast, I'm now in the market for another White Duck tent at my present location. The weight of the canvas is always factored into my travel plans. These are obviously not hiking tents, but they are amazing longer-term car camping/nomad tents. They are, at present, the only tents I've found that I can depend upon to be weather resistant, especially in the rain. I just got an Acacia, with the inflatable floor, that I'm presently planning to test for river travel in Northern California. I had that shipped here, directly. And because I didn't drive cross-country, my Florida White Duck tent will remain there. But when it comes autumn, I'll want to have a dependable nomad tent on the west coast. After over a year of shopping tents, I still haven't seen one that I feel will out-perform White Duck in the weather conditions I expect to face here in my new location. It's just a matter of which one to pick. So, happy camping to you while you build your home! I think you've gone with the right choice for your temporary housing! Gorgeous, huge wall tent you picked. Very fun to see you set it up, platform and all. Safe travels to you 💚

I'm not sure how one would assess waterproofing by this video. Waterproof is essential for me in the Pacific NW. My experience with White Duck is that their tents are very well-made. My canvas bell tent from them has performed extremely well. Never had an issue with leaks after a proper seasoning. My tent was up for months with no leakage during Florida's rainy season. I wish I had been able to bring it to my present location. The Rover is, I believe, a cotton/poly mix, so I can only judge White Duck on past performance, which was excellent. That being said, I'd like to inspect the seams on the Rover, know if they are taped, etc., and hear from verified purchasers about their experience with the Rover in rainy conditions. This is one of their best-priced tents, and I like it very much for its interior, and side ventilation. In my present area, this tent could be utilized year-round if it perform well in the rain.
