That cooling solution is probably a better one than what I have for the CPU. I was using a Noctua NH-C14S in the attempt to keep the VRM's cool. I got way better temps by adding an exhaust fan. To keep the VRM's cool you need fans to suck the hot air away from the VRM's. The 5700x3d is not a power sucking hot CPU but with these A520 motherboards you want to keep the VRM's cool. So plenty of exhaust fans on the top of the case and the side back is preferrable. Your current ID-cooling Se 224xts is probably good enough for a 5700x3d. I think its bare minimum for the CPU too but it should work.

im planning to temporarily add gpu to my biostar a520mh mobo and a r7 5700g, i note really sure if i should just save more money to buy new mobo before putting the gpu or i canjust use it now while saving for mobo

@@shinon1083 My motherboard soundcard blew up so I had to get a new motherboard. I used a 7900xt with that system. But I would wait for the 9070 xt if you are going with AMD. If you are going Nvidia a 5000 series GPU is nice. You can always save after a GPU upgrade. Don't forget you might need a new PSU... so it just gets more expensive. I know going to AM5 is expensive. I like to tinker with computers and probably would try the GPU first then Motherboard second. See how it works. But in the end you will want a faster CPU and motherboard eventually.

@@campcreekdude1 4060 ti 16gb is probably my last upgrade and maybe new motherboard after a few months of saving money since im still just a college stud, believe it or not amd gpus Here in my country are more expensive than nvidia's. If only i could buy 7800xt (cause they have the same msrp with 4060ti 16gb), these cursed retailers are asking more money for it, thats why i end up with 4060ti. I dont think i need to worry too much about the mobo vrms after doint some research, turns out vrms doesnt really supply that much power on gpu because it already has its own vrm and power connectors, but i better try to observe the vrm temps after putting the gpu just to make sure.

On my difficulty i never got into potions that much. I messed around on oils when it got hard - I used oils for this battle. But just the enhanced Swallow. I'm sure on higher difficulties the potions are necessary.

@campcreekdude1 I see. It's because I'm the type of player that likes to explore so even when I start a new game (not +), I always have the superior potions (collect its receipts). I find it fun to collect, read and test them all in combat. The Superior Raffard potion heals 100% health and gives 3s of invincibility last time I checked, but only 3 are available at a time.

Yea its similar fight to the Wicked Witch when she swoops down and you use Aard. That was a hard fight too but i didnt record it.

It holds up pretty good after I added a rear exhaust fan. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIHJZ6uDpZyeq7s But the onboard audio decided to go wanky so I had to upgrade the motherboard. There is no eco mode on the a520 and no need for it. Just run it at full speed.

if you got good airflow there will be no problem with a 5700x3d. I dont know how many phases the asus prime b450mk2 has but the a520 has enough. just gotta have airflow.

Those settings do not change the vcore of the cpu. I went on reddit and found this answer: "Core voltage is the voltage being applied to the cores, and SoC voltage is the voltage applied to the SoC. The SoC contains the memory controller and I/O die, and the SoC rail determines the max voltage for certain portions of the voltage applied to the Infinity Fabric. The two are not the same, and are not given the same voltage. The SoC is given its own voltage rail through an inductor independent of the inductors supplying voltage and power to the cpu cores."

What kind of case do you have? You should have an intake fan and an exhaust fan. With no exhaust fan my vrms were getting toasty. I noticed slight instability when I lowered voltages with my 5700x3d chip(A program error popped up).

@@campcreekdude1 Exhaust would be the one which pulls out the hot air right? I'm pretty sure my case has an exhaust fan on one side, and an intake fan on the other side. And I don't remember if it actually has any fans at the top, but some sort of air definitely comes out of the little pores it has lol (It seems a bit weaker than the other two tho) What's the standard anyway? Do some cases not have exhaust fans?

​@@adecs1422there is no standard. But my case only came with an intake fan on the front. But had room for a fan blowing out in the back. I had to add it.

​The board I had worked fine and all the a520 motherboards have similar power delivery. But what you need is a custom cooler for the cpu as well. Don't know which one will fit in your case. But yea, if you got decent airflow, the cpu should work.

I think there is an adrenaline setting that allows update for beta drivers. But yes by default it's hard to find these beta drivers

I've had flickering screen bugs with 1080 ti. The screen would just flicker every once in a while. It seems to have fixed itself through driver updates. With AMD 2 or 3 game breaking bugs(so far). I was expecting a new driver this month but it didn't happen for AMD.

LOL - For the first half of the game I never used Dodge. I didn't improve until multiple youtube comments were saying I'd be a little better with dodge instead of roll (all the time). I still don't counter attack. Its really difficult. Fighting humans is hard. BUT I'm churning through the game...lol

Yea it will vary with background tasks depending on computer. BUT a fresh boot on my system is using 10 to 11 GB of System Memory.

​@@campcreekdude1 That's a lot. Amongst my PC's is around 3. You might turn off stuff you don't need at boot. Task Manager Startup Disable and Task Schedular Disable stuff you don't need. In most cases apps will still run but may take longer to startup.

They promised a fps boost in patch 1.1 and performance boost in 1.2. 1.3 patch is more of a big fix patch. That being said I did not notice much gains but for lower end cards with less vram will benefit from lowered vram useage. With systems with less ram they will benefit from lower ram useage.

I can work on a tutorial. I've gotten that error before. I had to just uninstall the drivers completely (there are two methods for that) and install different drivers.

@@MerrillDragonAge You can try going back to driver 24.8.1 I used AMD CLEANUP UTILITY then reinstall the driver. BUT the glitch happens on drivers after 24.8.1 The new driver should work as it worked for me.

How did you guys install the update? I used AMD Cleanup tool prior to updating to this driver. HOWEVER, there is a major update to this game today and patches out. I haven't tested it yet (with the new patches). I am currently downloading the DLC.

I notice FSR QUALITY on my 43 inch screen in some games. With Radeon Super Resolution I don't see a difference at 1800p to 4K.

I have two builds as well. One with Ryzen 5700x3d + 7900xt and this one 5800x3d + 7900xtx. I find gaming benchmarks interesting as well. This benchmark doesn't have the white foliage issue many day 1 benchmarks do.

Did you uninstall the drivers and go back to 24.8.1?

That sucks. I've run into three driver issues so far with AMD. The last one(Alan Wake 2) was resolved in the very next driver update after I noticed it. I don't think they will fix Batman Origins opening battle flickering as the rest of the game worked fine. Plus that was a Nvidia title. I post this to help with bug detection and maybe if not fixed by next driver I will link them to this.

I don't have this computer configuration anymore. I could do 7900xtx 4k Native easily without moving stuff around in my house. Or if i get a new long cable I could do 5700x3d with a 7900xt at native 4k. BUT now that the remaster is coming out I will be benching it in a little while with 7900xtx.

@@Manuzoka1996 What's your frames at 4k native? I find that 100 FPS is smooth like butter in most games but its not really necessary. I also think the upscaling isn't that bad when its Ultra Quality, but when its down to Quality upscaling i think its too much. I just ordered a 15 foot USB-c cable so i can run it to my 4k monitor.

all the a520 boards don't have heatsinks on the vrm's. BUT the 5700x and 5700x3d don't consume much power. You need proper cooling on these a520 motherboard for these processors. You need to update the bios before installing the new cpu. So the answer is yes if you have good cooling... a nice fan blowing breeze across the vrms. @@crescentwolfgaming9826 I only have around 5 mods in Cities Skylines 2 and a population of 95K and I am at 16 GB of total system Ram used. I wouldn't say it requires 64 GB of ram. I might bite my words if I ever get to population 1 million lol He has a point very few games need more than 32 GB of ram. I upgraded because of MS Flight Sim leading the way to other games that will be RAM hungry. Notice how I did not do a benchmark before and after, BECAUSE i know it will be very small differences. I have a DDR4 system and took advantage of the low DDR4 prices. They will probably halt DDR4 production by the time 64 GB will become a norm. And that's when you see the ram prices go up.

Honestly, not that dirty, if at all. Work on a smokers pc, and you will understand what dirty cases or heat sinks really are.

This was a driver issue with AMD. I downgraded drivers to the Alan Wake launch driver and the pop-ins disappeared. With Flawless widescreen fix you can get more LOD distance. @@campcreekdude1 On Nvidia 4090 here with driver 560.94. I'll try a driver rollback.

Its a similar board to mine. The VRM's don't have heatsinks but with the right cooling it can work. You'll be going from 4 cores to 8 cores and that's a massive leap in performance for gaming. The 5700x3d will extend the life of your computer for a number of years. With cinebench it didn't thermal throttle and that's a tough 10+ minute benchmark. I'm happy with my A520 motherboard and 5700x3d now that I put in the proper fans to cool it down.

IT wont thermal throttle if you have decent air flow in your case. The board throttles itself if the vrms are too hot. So you want decent airflow over the motherboard.

YES i like it alot. Not all games offer "Ultra Quality" FSR but is pretty good too. Many games only go up to "Quality".
