Just got my EF2200. I also own two EU2200's. Long story short, this machine surprised me. Very capable little generator. If I didn't own the Hondas, I'd be very happy with a pair of these.

Do you still have your Yamahas, and, if so, how are they working? Thank you.

The drawback is taking that funnel off every time you fill it. Or an I missing something. Thought about cutting a hole up higher to see if I could fill it while it’s on.

I wish that plastic handle was metal. And perhaps they had a locking tab to keep that lid in the open position if needed. Their type 2 can looks better but it's twice the price which seems unreasonable

First off once you put the nozzle in you dont have to hold it open thats the beauty of this can "spring loaded" mine is 15 years old still working fine. Best gas can on the market. You failed to mention it doesn't suck in or out in extreme temperatures like those plastic ones do. Second buy an extra funnel when filling your truck makes it much easier start by sticking in the first funnel then put the second funnel connected to the gas can into the first one that way you dont have to rotate the can or raise the can so high hitting your car or truck to get all the gas out of the can.

You don’t have to hold the lid open once you have inserted the gas pump nozzle

It provides more power (Watts) for 60 seconds without overloading the unit and faulting.

That handle closing like that is a safety feature. 3 hands are better then 2, but you know. Lol

After much debate and comparisons I went with the Yam 2200. Totally pleased with it.

These cans are very good quality. When you fill the tank you can put the outlet of the funnel into the opening of the can, this hold the cap open and makes it very easy to fill. Also you need to make sure when you put the funnel back onto the tank that you seat it down all the way so the cap is sealing on the can opening and not the hole in the funnel or it WILL leak. Hopefully you will enjoy many years of service from this can. I own multiples

Question, I have a brand new can. I can hear debris inside rolling around. Not sure if it is metal shavings or rust dust or maybe paint flakes and dust? Should I worry? Should I just fill it up with gas? Can the little mesh filter thingy be removed so that I can let the debris come out?

My Eagle gas can is over 50 years old and still working great. Long gone is my faithful old truck, my dog and several ex-wives and yet I still have my faithful Eagle gas can. I have it included in my will as a family heirloom. We also have Sunday Services at the First Church of Eaglem where we pray to a large metal statue of the Supreme Ruler of Eagleoom. Eagle gas cans are from the planet 'Eaglelia' located in another galaxy far, far away. They were brought to earth by the Egalians and given to early humans who used them for storing water and dinosaur urine used for early fertilizer. Everything I have said is true, I swear to the Zwoom of Eaglelia, creator of the visible universe. ohm....ohm....ohm.....

New sub. Just got our first rv and started looking for generators. Must be something about blue, even the generator is blue that Im looking at. Blue Tahoe, Shadow Cruiser RV, blue grill, blue cooler,etc. Anyway, nice job on the video. Can’t wait to get the family outside and away. This will make it much better for those moments when there’s no power, or off grid for vacation.

WHY DOES IT NOT MATTER ABOUT THE PARALLEL PLUGS BEING PLUGGED INTO OPPOSITE RECEPTACLES? AND DO YOU USE A GROUND WIRE WITH THE CONNECTING GROUND TERMINALS?

It does not matter. I just thought some might wonder how to plug them in so I wanted to note it does not matter.

Very few reviews for this, it seems loud, have you compared it to anything else? I’m torn between this and the predator 3500.

I have not done any formal comparison bit when walking around other campsite it seems right there with other units. It's very quiet in ECO mode.
@ragingbullhcwf
@ragingbullhcwf 3 жыл бұрын
Not as quiet as you think. Definitely louder than the EF2000 or a Honda Eu2200. Not terribly loud, but it runs at a much higher RPM than other inverters. If the EU2200 is jogging, then the Ef2200 is sprinting Soundwise, I would compare it ito the EF2800 or one of those Honda open frame inverters. The EB3000 of whatever it's called.

Well done on a great video on the Yamaha EF2200is . My suggestion as a fellow EF series generator owner is to change out that initial oil fill as soon as possible. My reasoning behind this is these engines do not have a disposable oil filter attached to them. I purchased a EF2400is a good few years ago and I did my first oil change at 30min run time. It might sound crazy to change the oil so soon but im glad I did as the first batch of oil to come out had a definate pearlescent shimmer to it which is indicative of the engine breaking in and shedding metalic particles which is to be expected, but you dont want these bits lingering around inside the engine any longer than necessary. The second oil change was performed at 3 hours run time and the metalic particles were no longer visible to the naked eye. I performed another oil change at the 10 hour mark just to be 100% sure. Its cheap insurance in any case ! My genny is now sitting at well over 1500 hrs total run time (Compliments to the South African goverment for being unable to keep the lights on 24/7) and still starts and runs like the day I purchased it. They are truly bulletproof if given the right TLC.

Good recommendations. I need to get on that. It's been a great unit so far and I want it to continue to be for many more years. I hope to have more camping related videos up soon. Thanks for watching.
