Very interesting, e.g. his comment on scrum being an ancient agile method.

Complicated subsystems should definitely not be moved to platform teams. The fact that they are usually highly specialized systems does not change by “making them a service offered by a Platform team”. As a manager of a platform team, I think this would be horrible to the team. Please look at this from the perspective of the work that needs to be done and the people that need to work on it. The team topologies book is right on the money.

It depends on how we define a Platform. As Matthew Skelton says in this interview we could over time try to package the complicated subsystem into a service that can be consumed as a platform: agiledata.io/podcast/no-nonsense-agile-podcast/matthew-skelton-team-topologies/#:~:text=if%20that%20complicated%20system%20is%20like%20a%20a%20service%20that%20can%20be%20called%20at%20runtime%2C%20then%20yes%2C%20eventually%20it%20might%20get%20moved%20into%20a%20platform

Valued points. I’ll add another one. Consider standardizing things via leveraging automation.
