Alright so I don't have a subscription so I can't say exactly what's happening in this episode. But the gist is that Game changer is a game show with a different set of rules each episode (unless they are doing a sequel episode there are a couple that I believe have happened more than once) the contestants never know the rules going into the episode and have to figure out how to score points on the fly. The gimmick for this episode had something to do with time loops

I mean to be fair I believe she kind of signed up for this level of torment. From my understanding every episode basically has a level attached to it and the regular cast all have basically marked off on how much torment they are willing to accept and will be contacted for episodes based on that

The BTS says it was a way to reset the time loop, so if they kept Sam from kicking it I bet it would've been dropped or injured in some other way. I think it would've come up if saving the camera was the win condition
