Hida is a normal woman. A lesbian activist with a desire to be special. She hijacks the subject of intersex for narcissistic attention. She says nothing that is consistent with any of the intersex conditions. It’s about time she got outed as a fraud to stop the naïve public from being misled.

It shouldn't have to matter but it certainly helps her cause as a spokesperson for Intersex people that Hida is so very attractive, intelligent and articulate!!! Without those gifts, I think a lot of people would be more prone to think of intersex people as disordered and damaged.

You provide a very self affirming message to all of us whether intersex or feeling like traditional gender roles are a painful set of expectations. Your example surely will give courage to many who are afraid to embrace their unique qualities.

So... it's the physical part what is somehow in between both sexs, right? But what about their gender? They always feel as either a boy or a girl or can they identify as both?
@hidaviloria41428 жыл бұрын
sorry for slow response, I'm a luddite and just saw these comments. in answer to your question, just like non-intersex people our gender identities vary from individual to individual, some identifying as men, some as women, or some as both, as you mentioned, some as all these, (referred to as gender fluid) or some as neither, sometimes referred to as gender, non-binary, or genderqueer.

I wonder if would exist a child that would not undergo those operation during the first months of her lifes and then blame doctors and parents for letting her that way. I have heard women with enlarged clitoris wanting to go under the knifes to reduce the size of their clitoris. I bet they would have not blamed their parents or doctors if that operation would have been done when they were new borns. Also I wonder about transexual people who wants to undergoes surgeries to mutilate their bodies, I guess they would have been happy if parents and doctors would have done that when they were new born or would have them blamed their parents and doctors even in those cases just for the sake of blaming someone?

Doctors bully patients on all manner of issues. Even as an adult, doctors gave been very aggressive and inappropriate when I've demanded information and choice in my medical treatment for just ordinary medical issues. I can't imagine how unreasonable they would be "correcting" an intersex child. What happens to doctors that convinces them that they can play God? They typically have such an overdeveloped superiority complex that informed consent to any medical treatment is next to impossible. There needs to be legal protection for intersex children and their bodies, now.

I'd never even heard of intersex until I read a book, called "Golden Boy", which I really enjoyed. Very interesting to learn about this, nice one for speaking so openly instead of letting the media turn it into a big 'victorian freak show'esque affair.

I hope there comes a time where people can think out of the box. Where babyshowers won't be blue or pink. That it's okay for a girl to ask for an action man figure, and a boy for a princess-dress. Upon today it still bothers me why boys can't wear skirts so I'm making a skirt that can be worn by boys, ergo my own son. He is raised by living the way he feels and is not stamped by gender/sexe/sexuality. Kudos to you Hida for all your effort in raising awareness.

Raised xy son w observation re gender. Interesting how as toddler preferred "girl" clothes (not dresses, but glitter, feathers etc) AND cis male aggressive, yet wanted to tend infant dolls. As a grown man, still loves fashion, but is an elite male athlete w steady GF.

"not choosing a side" intersex or not, I think this an important way of raising children in general. As a child grows up it is necessary to develope both genders in a healthy matter. Gender is something different than sexe. For intersex people growing up it's part of their being and anatomy to reflect on their body as they feel fit. Chopping of parts won't do anything good, it'll only confuse and do damage. They have to make their own decisions as it comes to their own physical appearance.
