I enjoyed your video. I wish you could have seen Prague in the late 80's. No commercialization and no crowds.

Edinburgh is fantastic. When you were at Circus Lane you were also very close to some amazing other places...like Dean Village, Stockbridge (great shops and eats), St. Stephen Street, Saxe Coburg Place, the Royal Botanic Garden etc., all along the Water of Leith, the narrow river that runs through the city. You must come back and explore those. The Elephant House on Victoria Street is not THE Elephant House. It opened after the real one, just meters to the right of Greyfriars Bobby was shut down for repairs due to a major fire. The window scene by the desk in the Victoria Street location is what JK Rowling would see from the real place - a view over Greyfriars Kirkyard and to the castle. The original is set to reopen in spring/summer 2024. The sign in the Black Medicine Coffee Co. shop about it not being where Harry Potter was written is there because Ms. Rowling did most of here writing at Nicholson's (corner of Nicholson and Drummond Streets, across from Edinburgh Arts & Picture Framers), a coffee shop previously at that location. From what I can tell from an old interview shot in that location, she wrote upstairs in what is now a Chinese restaurant. It's great that you enjoyed Mary's Milk Bar - it is the best. Next time, come during the summer. On sunny days the city is glorious.

Planning to travel to Europe at the end of the year. Can I ask if you have a travel phone plan you recommend using?

You can get a very cheap pay as you go SIM from almost every supermarket. You'll get data and voice for about £10.

Great Review. It is indeed a very philosophical book. Very heavy read. It is more of an essay rather than a novel. The ending was very touching. I did not expect it.

Great review. It's been a while since I've read this book and, for whatever random reason, was in search of a cliff notes refresher course. Mission accomplished! BTW, love your voice and accent. You're super cute as well. Subbed

Read Nietzche thoughts on,"The greatest weight should be placed on the thought of eternal recurrence", I think the author was countering Nietzche's philosophy on the subject.

Indeed, one needs to be intelligent, insightful and definitely not superficial, to understand the book. It is not for everyone

I love Kundera's insight and beautiful imagination and words. I've read several books of Kundera and my top pick is Immortality. BTW I've painted a copy of Hopper's paining - which hang on the wall. So I can't resist to leave a comment here :)

Or how every thing is love, instead of separating sex from love. What general calls love is nothing but ownership and selfishness of owning a being. Thomas is pure love, a light like a candle and as light as a feather. He is able to see a special beauty in anything and that is the reason any woman can fall for him. He brings beauty and love out of ordinary being, and most of all he has respect (love) when with a woman and as in love with any as it is a love making each time not like what we mostly see even in the name of love. The second girl is the heavy being of a normal love. First girl is light and bright but not as light as Thomas who goes like the wind with what his heart says. Thomas even don’t understand why to be sorry when Theresa is upset. People offer bread to the needy with out feeling infidel what is wrong with offering good feelings to a needy. But my fav character is the first girl as I am a woman and can feel familiar with her. she takes care of saving and keeping the flame of love instead of owning a man.

A friend recently asked me about a certain experience and if I was glad I did it. I said that I can't be sure bc I don't really know the other outcomes that alternate paths would lead to. She said this book discussed that. I enjoyed it a lot and found the discussion of Kitsch interesting.

Thank you for explaining how the narrative was written, was having trouble trying to explain the unique way it’s written.
