I daily drive a '67 Valiant Acapulco, the Mexican "equivalent" to the US's Signet. It sports the 4-on-the-floor stick coupled to the 225 (all stock), is a pillarless 2-door hardtop (stock too) and already comes with those round side marker lamps. On the flip side, it came with not even a heater or dash vents for that matter. Unique car at that, but reliable as a dependable workhorse and every bit as pleasurable to drive as is a head turner too.

There were several other straight 6 engines on offer 523, 525, 528, 530 etc. i = injection. Cup holders were pop out at bottom of centre console and in rear too (although not the best)

The Firesweep was the entry level model from DeSoto. It was built on the Dodge platform. The higher-priced DeSoto lines shared the Chrysler platform. The push-button Torqueflite was a 3 speed automatic. Valiant was introduced in fall of '59 as a 1960 model. It was a compact car, much smaller than any DeSoto. Plymouth in the late '50s used the shortest wheelbase platform. Dodge was a few inches longer and Chrysler was a few inches longer than Dodge. Imperial was king with a 129 inch wheelbase. Poor DeSoto had to scrape by with Dodge and Chrysler platforms.

I have one of the last '76 Valiant sedans- it is very strangely optioned. Low-trim line, but had a V8, HD suspension w/swaybars, HD cooling (26" radiator, shroud , clutch fan), map light, passenger side mirror, carpet.

Those lights on the side are not turn signals they are side marker lights. One year only and they do light up whereas the following year 1969 rectangular side markers do not light up but are only reflective lenses.

0:46 The letter at the end of each vehicle's name represents the type of fuel used. An “i” signals a gas model, “d” for diesel. I also means injection I think

Enjoyed the vid, I have a 99, love mine, the trans are the weak point with these vehicles, had to have mine replaced at about110,000, make sure to keep up with the maintenance, otherwise they are really solid, hold up really well, and are fun to drive!

I found out from that the automatic shoulder belts were discontinued after airbags became mandatory in 1995.

Hi I have a question! I just bought my 2020 nexo yesterday and while on the highway I can only max 60-65mph then my car stops accelerating and goes back down. I can’t seem to accelerate even when I have the accelerator all the way to the ground. would you know the reasoning? Or should I take my car in?
