Nice news flash Espen. Now for my opinion so take it for what it's worth... The advantage of the 360 camera is infinite framing (and why I bought one to begin with) so if tracking is added that is absolutely a game changer - as long as the stitch lines are not crossed. I still have the old One X2 and the soon to be outdated RS 1" Edition you showed. Neither are "go to" cameras as Pocket 3, as it's simply the best for us as a travel channel for what we do. Why do I say that? Because Insta360 has several disadvantages. Here are my top 3: 1. The app workflow on a PC is poor. It is clunky at best. 2. 360 video for consumers is "mushy". The resolution (even if 4K) must be spread around the full "globe". 3. You can't use ND filters on most 360 cameras so no motion blur. As a pure action camera is is marginal but it's not cinematic at all. Here are some things that would help it compete: 1. Built in wireless mic receiver (never seen in footage) and if it works with 2 all the better. 2. Higher res... MUCH higher so that will make it pricey but there should be a "prosumer" version for some (like me). 3. Footage that can be edited more easily - a better Insta360 app for the PC is needed.

Hi Chuck, nice to see a comment from you😀. I don't disagree with your opinions, I understand what you mean. I just think it's fun to see the crazy development we're seeing now in new small cameras. And that Insta360 continues to improve its camera with each version only makes the competition better for all of us. I don't think this will be a new Pocket camera, it's probably an updated 360 camera. But I hope and believe that Insta360 would come with a Pocket camera in 2025. Have a nice weekend my friend😀

@@EspenJohan insta360 isn't really competition to DJI because they're two different platforms. I've always found 360 to be gimmicky... They have made some action cameras that go up against dji's action series and GoPro that look interesting. Competition is good... Right now the pocket 3 has no competition.

@@Kovaction Well I think Dji probably sees Insta360 as a big competitor. But they clearly lack a portable Pocket camera and drones. Pocket Camera is coming, not drones

Hard pass for us. We use Pocket 3's and Action 5 Pro's along with the Mic 2 or Mic Mini along with Mavic 3's for our travel vids... 360 stuff is fun but the use cases are rare (we had 2 times where it was the right camera in the past 5 years). Depends what you create and YMMV.

Action 4 has not SuperNight mode like action 5. It has a low light mode, but not as good as action 5.

DJI seems better than Sony & better sound ffs :S. Price difference is also insane. Sony-FDR-X3000: Cost around 1000euro/dollar with the full setup kit. The DJI Osmo Action 4: around 200/250euro… WTF I am 100% going to buy a DJI 4k camera! Would love this Sony camera, if it didn´t overheat. The sound, sounds freaking horrible, even with a mic or filter. Sadly, had to throw it away this crap SONY-Camera & go with a GOPRO. “But looking at buying a DJI now!” Also, horrible to set up this SONY camera, with a stand or a shoulder setup. Something you easy can do with a GO-PRO-13... So, kind of disappointed in this SONY-camera after paying 1000 dollars for the whole setup. It´s been awful, turning on & off or just dying in the middle. So, I highly do not recommend this SONY-camera. Also, SONY is going downhill like freaking hell because of stu**dity & being greedy. That´s all I got to say. And thank you for the video, great to see the difference. CSL & OUT!

Fun and good summary. I understand what you mean, and partly agree. The Sony X3000 has acquired a cult status and is liked by many. But dji is better. The beauty of slightly older cameras is that they have a slightly different image appearance. But I'm not sure if I would recommend anyone to spend that much money on an X3000 in 2025. Personally, I find the EV setting at -1 looks the best - feels more natural and balanced. Also, can you please do a video on how to auto colour grade in Davinci Resolve? Cheers

Hi😀, finding the right EV setting is just to try different settings. But it's important to set it low👍. Yeah I can do a little color grading tutorial. But im not a exspert.

Место красивое, но камера не впечатлила. Что сильно бросается в глаза: стробоскопический эффект (из-за яркого света и короткой выдержки, изображение дергается), мерцание фонарей (из-за съёмки 30fps при 50Гц освещения ламп). Общее качество картинки imho хуже, чем у Insta Ace Pro 1. На 2:22 сильное мерцание крыши здания справа по непонятным причинам. Для коротких динамичных роликов на телефоне - подойдёт, но на мониторе ПК и ТВ смотрится плохо.

If you don't mind mushy footage and severe barrel distortion, then the flexibility of a 360 camera is fine. Otherwise best to use it for action shots and not vlogging.
