Nice. There is plenty of them where I live. I seen a 4MXL recently and it is massive in person. Some don’t have intelligent defrost, so there’s a chance you could catch in defrost every 30 minutes or so. Not sure on this unit.

@ likely. The 4MXL has an intelligent defrost sensor on the back. My Mitsubishi and Fujitsu are similar but the Fujitsu has one close to the coil and is extremely unpredictable when it’s going to defrost. The Mitsubishi is a Hyper Heat variant it is so quick with it, it’s interesting.

Autistic guy with ADHD here, I chased down the west side of the storm this day in the Des Moines metro and caught a tornado cutting southeast through the city on the south loop. The rest of the storm turned into a tornado machine in the Chicago area overnight, producing (oddly enough) one of the highest counts of tornadoes for the Chicago area since the **last** derecho back in 2020. Good film, you should chase!

These aren’t heaters, these are central air conditioners. I believe each system is about around maybe 1,000 dollars, atleast for a new system.

Yeah it runs a lot in the summer it seems. It did run in the mid fall in October when it was in the 30s but I actually haven’t seen it run at all anytime lately. This and the 1999 Lennox run in cool weather but I’ve never seen them run in the late fall or winter.

We had a storm here in brisbane australia with 100 mph winds and baseball sized hail last year! It tore our roof off😅

It was a derecho. I remember this day like it was yesterday, I live in cook county near Chicago and I remember the 2 days in a row that Chicago had. On July 14 2024 like 5 tornados touched down in Chicago/cook county we had to go into the basement. Then on July 15 2024 a derecho hit Chicago and their was a tornado that was 1-2 miles away from me. Chicago has lots of tornado’s during the summer but this one was so bad. the sirens we’re going off like crazy. And I can hear the wind whirling in the night. Yes, the storm hit at night which made it 10X more creepier

Yeah lol. This particular unit I think does a bar area here. This unit has really odd schedules because sometimes it will run but other times it doesn’t. The other American Standard runs far more than this one and it runs in cold weather too.

Dang that’s crazy, I wonder what kind of business this unit is responsible for. I went to an Xfinity store today and they had it on 68 in cool when it the highs were in the mid-40s today🤦🏻♂️

I think this particular unit does an Indian grill/restaurant at this part of the complex. This part of the complex actually used to be vacant a few years ago and this and the other ICP unit by it didn’t run for a couple years. If I had to guess this probably does the kitchen. I think it was vacant from about 2018-2020.

I’m pretty sure these are just ICP 3-Phase units. These didn’t come with logos when they were first installed. These replaced older ICP commercial units from the early 2000s in 2017.

Believe it or not it actually does sometimes. I’ve seen it off a few times this summer but on in the winter at times. Kinda surprised this thing is still working great despite all it’s been through and it doesn’t even have a low ambient kit lol. These things are beasts.

@ indeed, this beach community we go to in FL from 1999-2000 had a bunch of these. The last two were replaced sometime between 2020-21. Not bad for a coastal environment

Thanks! A “QLCS” is basically a line of strong severe thunderstorms on radar. They’re usually along a cold front. These kinds of storms almost always tend to have damaging straight line winds within them and sometimes even tornadoes too. If the winds are strong enough for a long period of time they can be classified as a derecho, which I believe is what this storm was. Thanks for watching!

Those heat pumps have to be working pretty well for them to be cycling instead of constantly running when it’s in the upper 10s! Or maybe the building has the temps set low

These units actually seem to work decently well despite them likely being stand alone heat pumps. I’ve seen them cycle as low as the single digits and run as low as the negatives. I believe this unit and the one to the right of it do the gymnasium next door. I see these run a lot more than the other 2 for some reason lol.
